Minds Beneath Us sets a new bar for the world of choice-driven narratives. Whether it is the story, the art, or even the gameplay, Bearbone Studio excels in their creation of a game that is both compelling and fun; Seperating itself from its competition. It's unique yet familiar and while it may not be everyone's cup of tea, I implore those who are searching for a taste of a good story or even for a player who wishes to experience a more cinematic style of gameplay to try this game out. Minds Beneath Us may be an eye opener to both narrative fans and gamers alike.

Minds Beneath Us by BearBoneStudio is a haunting sci-fi adventure set in a dystopian future where humans are used as internet infrastructure. This narrative-driven game offers a compelling storyline, atmospheric visuals, and innovative gameplay mechanics. Despite its clunky save system, the game's deep societal critique and immersive experience make it an unforgettable journey. Perfect for fans of thought-provoking sci-fi adventures, Minds Beneath Us delivers a powerful message about the future of humanity and technology.

A slow burn, Minds Beneath Us is a memorable dystopian sci-fi thriller in every individual component besides its gameplay.

An excellent dystopian thriller, with attention to every aspect and the audiovisual sector as valid as its engaging narrative.

There is some interactivity missing here and sometimes the dialogue sequences get so long that it feels like the game is standing still but if you are prepared for this and if you are looking for a story-heavy, thematically brilliant text adventure that is dripping with social criticism and naturally written dialogue, it is undoubtedly the surprise of the summer.

This game came as a brilliant surprise full of interesting twists, engaging dialogue, and a dark plot. I cannot recommend this title enough.

Minds Beneath Us relies on confusion – a hell of a lot of good confusion – to get the player invested in its dystopian reality. Illusion of meaningful choices aside, it tells a compelling sci-fi tale of corporations gone awry and hits the sweet spot of good sci-fi philosophy that fans may be wanting in 2024. It’s gorgeous, too.

Minds Beneath Us is spectacular when delivering slice-of-life moments, both if they involve the main character and when it comes to ancillary conversations in the background. It’s also good at creating an interesting vision of the future while offering a core narrative that tackles modern themes in engaging ways. Its presentation adds to the immersion level, although the lack of faces will be a little disturbing. Its mechanics do not stray from the adventure game standard and when they do QTEs make an unwelcome appearance. A few conversations are over-written, especially when the game tries to focus on emotions. But Minds Beneath Us offers a good enough story that these are small problems. Play around a full day at a time and savor every interaction.

The game also makes us question our morals and beliefs and asks us how far we are willing to go in order to make the world a better place. It keeps you on your toes and creeps under your skin and reminds us that although the future may look bright, corruption will always lurk below.
