One of the best action games I ever played.
It's literally like an old action movie and it's kinda like a cover shooter but then there are so many small cool details like when you are in a cover the main character lights a cigerate. Y can attack with guns, axe, swords and so on so there are so many ways to take down an enemy, you got excellent bosses.
There are also something with the game that is hard to explain, it's kinda how the game feels that just feels cool and good to play.
The game is fantastic and will probably go down as a cult classic.

Juego divertido con una buena transición entre 1ª y 3ª persona, que encuentra en un apartado técnico muy justito y su corta duración sus mayores lastres. A destacar el modelado del protagonista y la BSO.

I love this game!!!! Why all the hate? Its so much fun! I think people are letting reviews get to their heads. The hottest girls in video games ever are in this game. And im a straight girl saying that. Theres alot of fun moments and some of the bosses are challenging but in a good way. Highly recommend it. Unfortunately you cant buy it digitally anymore because the eshop shutdown and the physical copy is very expensive. But to those who can get it, i highly recommend this game!

The shortcomings in performance are considerable, however there is a lot to like here. The over the top action and combat is fun, but made harder to master due to severe frame rate dips. A lot of the time textures appear to not load or simply just haven't been completed. The boss fights provide enough of a challenge. The pros outweigh the cons. Just.

There is stuff that's needs work, a few wrinkles!
But this is fun and the multiplayer is completely awesome, it's a shame it got closed down.
Worthy of a sequel (please the nintendo switch needs you)

This game stands beside 50 Cent blood On The Sand s and hilariously engaging mass ****. story takes itself serious and that is what makes it hilarious , The gameplay is interesting that It's trying to combined shooting and melee combat With some success it's not completely god-awful but it's not good but I did have fun playing it . But why did I enjoy it, mostly because it reminded me of bed anime from the 90s and I can't get enough, it So cheesy then puts a smile on your face . I would recommended if you can get it cheap

Just crazy fun!! As soon as i picked up the controller and started playing I had a smile on my face just slashing and shooting **** up... Ivan is such a badass... I don't get whats not to like.... Take the game for what it is and what it was made for... don't take it so serious and just blow **** up

The greatest merit of this game is the combination of hack and slash mechanics with those of a third person shooter. It's not a bad game, but also not remarkable one.

the combat's very basic (especially the gun combat), but the game remains an enjoyable game.

I personally really liked the game! I've completed many Wii U games in the past few months (BOTW, Half-Genie Hero, Darksiders 2, Mass Effect 3, etc.) and this is one of my favorites. I did not mind the controls, the story and the lenght (not too long, not too short). It was not glitchy for me (Wii U set on game mode). I simply cannot understand the bad reviews...I really enjoyed it which is not common for me to be honest...

The game is very good and it deserves a better fate... Yeah, it has some technical issues but the idea is solid. Can't wait to play Itagaki's next game!

Don't let all the negative reviews get to you. this is a Developer that didn't spent tons of money on advertising so it's they're not getting an automatic 7 or 8 out of 10 at IGN or GameSpot. This is a Play for your self to decide kinda game.

Thx, Mr. Itagaki. This game is not a **** like critis said, it's an understimeted great experience. I simply love the swipe from tps and action and the solo story mode is great. I hope u can make a second chapter with more things and hopefully better framerate(the only one thing gone wrong). Anyway, hasta la vista Itagaki san

Probably the most infravalorated game of this gen extremely fun , original campaing and gameplay and the online the best in a few time "so many strange" that the critic and Pages of games say only bad things but a jewel and a instant cult game buy it if you can and enjoy it thanks to read

I´d rate 7,5. It´s a pretty good "B" type action game. Of course it is dump, but i had a lot of fun playing it. If there wasn´t so many FPS drops, i´d give 8/10. Don´t let critics fool you, it is a really good and fun game.

Great singleplayer and awesome multiplayer. I had so much fun with this game, that's just crazy xD The controls work woderfully, the gameplay never gets boring with a lot of different settings & experiences. The bosses are very challenging and the online modes are awesome.

It's a pretty odd game. Tomonobu Itagaki of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive fame brings us a game that feels like a combination of Call of Duty and the hack and slash genre. Dated design and crappy multiplayer do hurt the overall package, but they don't ruin it. It's single-player offering is unique and fun enough to keep things going. Remarkably the game ends up being more shooter than hack and slash. So much so that the melee combat ends up feeling like an afterthought. I would find myself chopping up enemies here and there, but primarily stuck to using my blade (or whatever other melee weapon I was using) for the bosses. The hybrid first and third-person shooting mechanics work well. It's melee combat, while good, hearkens back to the hack and slash games of yesteryear, as do the graphics. Throughout the course of the campaign you'll make your way through locations, scenarios, and a plot that only add to that Call of Duty feel, which isn't a bad thing. Part of what makes the game so enjoyable is that it's unique. As far as the boss battles go they really do fit the hack and slash side of things. Outside of some cheap, random one-hit kills that literally come out of nowhere these encounters can be a lot of fun. The game mixes things up from time to time with some sections that break away from the standard shooting and stabbing. Overall the campaign is very fun, despite having dated mechanics and a confused narrative. However a cool lead character and sense of style make the already unique and enjoyable gameplay even easier to stick with. There are some minor frustrations here and there, but I very much enjoyed the campaign. The same can't be said about the multiplayer. The same combination of gun and swordplay are here. However the looser controls online make the gunplay a mess and the melee is practically useless without the right weapon(s). Your gear really can affect your performance. It's one of the biggest issues the multiplayer has. Skill can still win the day, but it's not hard to see that those with better weapons do have a significant advantage. With some microtransaction being slipped into the game for this, it's not hard to want to jump ship. The only way it will really keep you coming back is if the Wii U is your only system. However even with the Wii U's relative lack of options in the multiplayer department, there are still better options. The combat is just too loose and it's an almost dead experience anyway. The only matches I found were in the free-for-all mode. While the multiplayer falls flat on it's face the single-player campaign makes Devil's Third worth playing. Yes, it's dated, but it still stands out as one of the most unique, interesting, and most importantly fun games I've played in the Wii U. Tomonobu Itagaki may not have revolutionized the hack and slash genre, but his willingness to merge it with another still makes it noteworthy. The campaign is a lot of fun and makes Devil's Third worth a look for the older Wii U owners. It is rated M after all.

It's actually pretty damn good despite its flaws. Multiplayer is a blast when you are playing with a ton of people. Absolutely loved building forts to make traps for invading enemies. Single player is like an 80's action movie and pretty fun. I can't believe how few people learned to extend their Enbaku mode (super mode) by damaging enemies. You can make it last minutes instead of the usual 20 seconds. Damn good fun.

This is a great game, have many problems, yes, but have a great pro: it's REALLY funny. I enjoyed the single play, have all features to be a great action game.

I really enjoyed this game. It felt to me like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry as a third person shooter. I am surprised by the negative reviews it has received. I do believe many people struggled with the boss levels and got frustrated. But I completed the game and enjoyed the heck out of it.

I think this is a really fun game and i can't understand all the negative reviews it is getting. It is a fun action game with great controls and if not a 10 it should a least get an 8 and being a wii exclusive makes it even more desirable.

I have a slight addiction to this game. I didn't get this same addiction from counterstrike or CoD and im not sure why. I enjoy the idea of clans, the available diplomacy actions and building and repairing your own fortresses throughout North America. Ridiculous amounts of fun. If you're online, lookup Cdusdal, currently BandofthHawk clan

Great game. The single-player campaign starts pretty generic, but after a few levels things get more interesting. You start seeing more types of enemies, the game gets more challenging and there are some really crazy sequences in it. Really fun single-player mode. The plot is weak, but the characters are all very interesting and funny. The multiplayer online is also pretty good. It works fine, with no lags and there are a lot of options. The game presents a few slowdowns here and there, but that's about it in terms of problems. It's totally playable. Any Wii U owner who likes action games should by Devil's Third.

Devil's Third delivers! This is one of the best games of 2015 and another wonderful Wii U exclusive. You play as Ivan who has to take up arms against a group of terrorists who threaten world peace. The game is made up from different levels usually ending with an epic boss fight or some other climax. The gameplay is smooth, the camera controls well, the music is fantastic and most of all; it's a lot of fun. something reviewers don't care about in videogames, instead opting for endless open world games with little challenge and the same gameplay and button layout. so, forget about them and let's play this game like it's 2006!

I bought Devil's Third with low expectations, but even though I already knew that there's something wrong with mainstream reviews I'm still hoping to be surprised. And boy the reviews were not accurate. One note is no one should play this game in "EASY" mode and call it a soulless piece of garbage. It's more inclined with the Ninja Gaiden series in difficulty. There are bosses (except Molotov) that can kill you instantly in one or two hits and that's playing in "STANDARD MODE". This game will definitely test your skill and patience. The plot is like a B-movie action flick with the typical Eastern European over-the-top protagonist (Ivan) but it's very self-aware. It's like a parody of all action flicks you've ever watched. The hybrid mechanic of third person hack n' slash and first person shooter works just fine, you just need to know when to use it. Note: If you're on "EASY" mode you can button-mash and shoot away all you like even on boss fights. It's not supposes to be played that way there are certain timing on every move/attack. Like Itakagi San said, this game is not for the unskilled gamers. Its mechanics is very old-school, no healing item (auto-healing ala CoD), no extra life, skill-based in-your-face hardcore game. It's definitely a winner to me and I know there are gamers out there who likes punishing games. Graphics is not top notch but still good. I've read and watched a lot of complains about glitches which to me is very minor and I think comparing it to PS2 graphics is just plain mean. Nonetheless it's a fun romp and a very hard one. You should give it a try.

Think that the whole gaming press should apologize to Itagaki. This game is far from perfect, you can see how its development was troubled, but is really fun, it's complete, and it works. **** broken experiences like Assassin's Creed Unity took incredibly no-sense scores. This game is fun and it make me laugh lot, the main character, Ivan is a really charismatic character and the story it's interesting. It's definitely a game with it's own personality other than lot of other action/shooters out there, games that when you finish them you totally forgot about, because they are empty and doesn't left you nothing. Devil's third it's not like this and it has my respect.

I bought this game expecting one of the worst game of the year, but **** turns out to be an addicting, albeit technically flawed brawler-shooter hybrid. **** has frame rate ****, it looks jagged in many areas, but **** plays really well, similar to Itagaki's own Ninja Gaiden. So haters will still be haters and will think that the Wii U is just a **** the fact is I have the most 'unique' experience this year from it, so go figures.

This game is a lot better than the critics would have you believe. It's not a masterpiece but it isn't a 44/100 either. I like the combat switching between edged weapons and guns. The enemy A.I. leaves a little to be desired at times. Sad this game will do poorly just because the critics tanked it.

It might look and feel a bit low budget at times, but Devil's Third is certainly uniquely entertaining as well. Gameplay is intense and fast paced, the combination of melee and shooting mechanics works really well, and is more of a challenge than most shooters on the market. Not an amazing game, but not a bad one by any stretch of the imagination,

Nope. Devil's Third has a lot of good ideas, but none of them are executed well. The "high paced action" is nothing but a mess, the graphics look like they belong on the Playstation 2, and the single player campaign is one of the most terrible experiences i've ever seen. The only good part I can say about this game is the melee and gunplay mixture, and the controls are alright, but this game does not deliver in any other regard. This game will take it's place beside many others as one of the worst games of 2015. Devil's Third gets a 2/10.

Freaking amazing gameplay, fragile balance between a shooter and a slasher KINDA LIKE GEARS OF WAR VS NINJA GAIDEN DO WHAT YOU WANT SHOOT'EM OR SLASH'EM. Enemies are smart and will kick your ass. Decent plot - especially for a Nintendo exclusive. In a nutshell this is a spectacular adventure, you can even say a must have, heck, I'd even get the Wii U just for this game if I didn't already have one.

Great game unfairly treated by critics. Really really fun and with an awesome multiplayer. It doesn't have the best graphics, but you probably will forget about it when playing. Totally recommended for action-games fans.

Yes it has flaws, this is because of a very troubled development cycle. But if you go into it thinking it your are playing a B-Movie you will have a lot of fun, I certainly did!

Devil's third.. more like Devil's turd. horrible unpolished graphics and a low fps that only a terrible hackwork like this peace of **** game can bring. seems more like a salvage job than anything. now itagaki can just sit in his corner, trying to cover his teary eyes with long stupid hair, seeing all the horrible review scores pour in as his integrity goes down the drain.

It's not perfect but it's not so awful as it being reviewed by some journalists and youtube viewers. In ways it can be played are more variants than in last Ninja Gaiden. Slashing and finishing your enemies feels and sound very fun. Boss fights are strong and very intensive. Level design is simple so what, it's a standard for Japan arcade slasher. Characters are trashy but cool. Fire + Run + Jump + Slash + Finish. Changing this elements in order during gameplay and have unique fun. Cut scenes are nice. Putting 10 to support the metacritics score of the game. But the real score is 7.5 and not a point lower.

Devils Third is a fun game and while people complain about "Bad graphics" I think they're not that bad and they don't even matter, most of the people writing reviews just want to hate on WII U and hate on this game for being WII U, they see reviews and decide to write there own on here to give it a worse rating. The multi player is a blast and I would pick it up just for that and it's so fun that I'm giving it a 9

A simple honest review Devils third singleplayer? well what can I say.... its shoddy, looks like it was put together without any major thought into the development boss battles are very dull, and frame rate drops are horrible. That being said, the single player wasn't terrible. its one of those single player games where you have your mates over for a few beers and laugh at how gory yet hilariously put together. The sudden changes in Ivan and the slow-mo decapitations make it a bearable campaign. Campaign score 5.5/10 Multi player however is the winning factor for this game You can tell from the start that this was the part of the game the developers wanted you to play. straight from the get go you are able to have a wide array of weapons and customizable character appeal ranging from a ninja suit to a a full cardboard box armour with a cat helmet. which is highly amusing when your cutting down ur foes with a katana, or if you like me being the one getting killed by the katana. The game modes are different and fresh, for example one gamemode sees you throwing watermelons into a massive blender while stopping the other team throwing their watermelons. Another one sees you in a CQC with melee weapon only leaving for a lot of mess and carnage. For all these pros these prose they are some cons. I have found that snipers can bit quite overpowered in most maps and that can cause a problem for the balance needed in most multiplayer shooters . Not only this but I found the siege mode quite confusing. I cant spoil too much but you are thrown straight into the deep end and would adivse you to be a mercenary for the first few games in order to get too grips. Multiplayer rating 7.7 out of 10 Graphics: Not much to say here a very troubled development that went through many engines 5.8/10 Conclusion: Overall I am enjoying the experience. I cant say I recommend the single player, but the multi-player is a blast so if your looking for a game that will amuse you for hours on end and can withstand the not so brilliant graphics and the occasional frame rate drops this is that game. Its not a system seller but if you can get it for under 25£ you are getting a steal!!!

7/10 SHOCKED AND DISGUSTED at how low these commercialized reviewers scored this game. I've been a gamer since the colecovision days, before the NES. This would have to be the most inaccurate reviews I've seen, one monkey probably IGN or Gamespot said it's garabage, then the sheep followed. I'm sure the preview copies were the beta, my copy doesn't have all these graphic glitches shown on youtube. The graphics are good, the character models are brilliant, probably the best character models on the Wii U. The game play does feel like an outdated arcade game, but that's a good thing. The game reminds me of a better era in gaming, before video games tried to be blockbuster hollywood movies. The story is reasonable bad, but who cares if I wanted a good story I would pick up a book. The boss fights are challenging. The frame rate is good, the frame rate dips are rare and very short, heck it runs better than the Witcher 3 PS4. This game is worth the purchase, for a few reasons to see how much the reviewers ****, it'll probably go up in value and it's a blast. The bats do **** though.

The story mode is mediocre at best and awful at worst but it's saved by score attack and multiplayer I'd rate it 7.5 overall. Hopefully the bad press doesn't stop people from getting what is a very fun game.

the proffesional reviewers probs played it for a half hour to quickly get back to mgs and the users rating it bad probably haven't even played it just repeating other people's opinions, this isn't the best game ever but it's loads of fun and the score attack and multiplayer is great. Overall an 8 from me, a must play for wiiu owners.
