Overall Flashpoint adds a good amount of content to the base game. Flashpoints can be played if you’ve already beat the game or as a part of the game experience as you level. At $20 USD it offers new missions, new short stories, arguably one of the best melee mechs ever and a lush tropical biome to play around in. If you enjoyed the base game, you’ll love Flashpoint

A laser-focussed expansion that adds variety and depth to the already solid base game. BattleTech: Flashpoint gives players new stories and something to plan their time around whilst playing in the sandbox of the BattleTech universe.

The FP are great story telling, challenging and fun! The open game mode is great totally worth it!

Flashpoint is a fantastic addition to the main game. It has a lot of new quality content. I was somewhat bored with the original campaign but the new career mode opens the gates, and makes the game much more interesting. Flashpoint has made me excited about the upcoming future updates to Battletech.

As a singular purchase, Flashpoint appears rather modest on the surface. But taken as a whole, it would be impossible for me to go back to a pre-Flashpoint campaign.

Battletech Flashpoint isn’t really a must own expansion, but it is certainly worth it for players looking for more.

Battletech: Flashpoint adds some much needed mission variety alongside meaningful conversation choices outside the battlefield, but the limited number of new mechs and single new biome aren't going to justify the price for all but the most dedicated Battletech fans.

Overall, Flashpoint doesn’t offer anything that will pull new players in — almost everything in this DLC is geared toward end- or post-game content, and this is its underlying problem. If all of these elements were mixed in with the single player campaign, they’d be nice flavor in the otherwise-dull side content. However, since this DLC seems tailor-made for people who’ve already finished the story (like me) there just isn’t enough to hold my interest.

Flashpoint is fine expansion in terms of re-engineering BattleTech for extended play, then – far better than kicking us into another pit of mega-story or necessitating a new beginning. Long-term, I’d love to see more vibrancy from BattleTech – wilder planets, more colourful mechs and special attacks, grimier, punchier characters – but I suspect only the latter is compatible with this decades-old setting. Already though, a Flashpoint-augmented BattleTech is a significantly leaner and more adaptable machine than the lumbering brute of launch.

On one hand, Paradox Interactive releases the Hearts of Iron IV: Battle for the Bosporus expansion, plastering loading screens and promotional materials with portraits of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to take players' money; on the other hand, a stellar moderation team bans players on their official Discord server simply for using an Atatürk profile picture, labeling him a 'controversial/objectionable historical **** a company that has sustained itself for years by selling 'historical depth and realism,' employing moderators who cannot even recognize one of the most respected statesmen of the 20th century—and who are utterly oblivious to the very content of the games they sell—is an admirable display of corporate vision. Tolerating actual WWII dictators and war criminals across your servers under the guise of 'roleplay and historical interest' while banning a leader who led an anti-imperialist war of independence perfectly encapsulates Paradox's blatant double standards. With the 2021 internal scandals of discrimination, mismanagement, and mobbing within your own company still fresh in memory, it is truly baffling with what moral or historical authority you presume to lecture the gaming community. Rather than addressing the toxicity within your own offices, branding the founding father of a nation—whose history you monetize—as a 'controversial figure' is, if not pure ignorance, outright **** advice: before developing historical strategy games, buy your community managers a basic 20th-century historical atlas, or at least teach your moderators who the leaders featured on your game covers actually are. If you are disconnected enough from history to deem a leader on your own store cover as 'objectionable' on your server, perhaps you should stick to designing entirely fictional realms instead of real-world history. Before labeling the founding leaders of the communities whose respect you solicit as 'shady,' consider refunding the money you took for the DLCs sold with their likeness. Instead of packaging and selling the history of nations whose legitimacy and founders you fail to comprehend, focus on fictional universes where your historical ignorance won't show. Mark September 23, 2026: it will be remembered as the day a historical strategy company faced its own ignorance—cashing in on Atatürk's portrait in-game while banning players for displaying that exact same portrait on their official Discord under the guise of an 'objectionable person'."Ne Mutlu Türküm diyene"M.
