This movie glosses over the serious crime these people committed, in which they put people in danger. It's treated as a minor indiscretion when it's actually very extreme behavior that most people with a conscience and concern for others could never do. There were plenty of other options, but this couple choose the path of evil. Why not make a film showing the resilience of victims of crime who have to rebuild their lives after having them destroyed by sociopaths? Those are the people who truly demand our sympathy and respect.

Trainwreck2
Oct 14, 2020
Trainwreck is an unfunny movie with a very generic romcom plot. It lacks the daring that made Schumer's TV show funny.

Captain Marvel1
Oct 14, 2020
Captain Marvel is the blandest of superhero movies. Brie Larson is a strange choice as lead, given that she is consistently either stony-faced or smirking and lacks the charisma necessary for such a role.

Da 5 Bloods1
Oct 14, 2020
This movie was at least an hour too long for the material. It's in need of a huge amount of cutting to give the story shape and to stop it from being a dull, unfocused mess.

The Personal History of David Copperfield1
Oct 14, 2020
This adaptation is a complete mess. It's slow, but also jarring at times because characters aren't sufficiently developed and the plot threads don't connect. The casting is odd and there's no attempt to recreate the look or feel of the period accurately. There's an embarrassingly forced sense of whimsy at times, and a type of deliberate, adolescent weirdness which fails to amuse. At the end, I was bored and wished I'd spent the time actually reading **** instead.

Coming to America9
Oct 14, 2020
Coming to America still stands as one of the best American comedies ever made. Eddie Murphy is flawless in his portrayal of the good-hearted African prince who comes to the USA to find love while living as an ordinary person. The supporting cast are excellent too, particularly Arsenio Hall.

Vampires vs. the Bronx0
Oct 14, 2020
Vampires vs. the Bronx is too derivative of other movies, principally Attack the Block, The Monster Squad, The Lost Boys and Stranger Things. The lack of originality combines with poor pacing and plotting, a lack of any real horror or humor, and some below-average acting, to produce a movie that ultimately feels like a waste of time.
