It's a good film, nothing more, nothing less. Based on all the talk about this film last month, id expected it to be really impactful, but it's not really any darker or any more shocking than what we've seen before. Joaquin Phoenix does a fantastic job as the lead roll; scenes with his forced laughter are some of the best in the film. However outside of his acting, nothing about this film really stands out. - 7/10 expected more.

I, like everyone else, loved the first movie and couldn't wait for this sequel. After seeing the trailer i was a bit worried that the plot wasn't going to be very interesting, however, the original trailer for incredibles 1 was awful too, so i wasn't too worried. Unfortunately the trailers were correct this time, the plot of this movie is simply terrible. Despite taking place literal seconds after the first film, none of the characters have seemed to have grown or progressed from the beginning of the first. The flaws they all had at the start of incredibles 1, are all still issues in this film. The only real difference is mr incredible and Elastigirl have had their roles reversed for no real reason. The one story line i enjoyed was with bob struggling to look after his children and be "incredible" as he is expected to be. Its just a shame that is never looked into deeper. It would be far more interesting to spend some more time developing his character to come to grips with the fact he cant always fix everything, or solve every problem, but instead its resolved by the next scene. Turning back to the plot, the motivations of the villain make no sense, at all. It doesn't help the villain is also extremely boring and extremely predictable. The character of syndrome in the first film makes this film feel like it was written by a child, and outside of the quality of it's animation, this film really has nothing going for it. 3/10 - Needed a whole plot rewrite to even be worth making :(

i saw the trailer for this movie, and honestly after the train wreck that was incredibles 2, i thought this movie was heading down the same path. However toy story 4 not only exceeded my expectations, but it was also better than the previous movie! The Animation is simply outstanding, the opening 10 minutes are beautiful. The storyline is both fun, emotional and even creepy? I was most surprised by ducky and bunny, the 2 new characters that were shown off through out the trailer, i thought these characters were going to be your generic pop-culture comedians, but instead they were the stand outs of the film. Their comedy and timings were hilarious at times, and outside of woody and buzz, were my favourite characters. Forky was also less annoying than id assumed going into the movie, i like his mindset of believing he is trash (maybe a reference to how all those kids who grew up with the first 3 films feel about themselves now) and the scenes of him trying to escape actually made me laugh. Most of the returning cast dont get much of a time to shine, but the new characters and the fantastic story line more than make up for it. 9/10 - the best one since Toy story 2.

The comedy was great for the most part and there were lots of fun scenes. However, the movie is neither particularly interesting or scary. The plot is kinda all over the place, and it feels like exact same thing is happening on repeat for about an hour and a half. The characters split up, and we see them walk around alone, before a predictable (not scary or very well animated) jump scare happens. The character gets away, then rinse and repeat with all of them until the climax of the movie. There was one scene i love that i wont spoil, but it was certainly in the camp of "fun" over "creepy". unfortunately this film doesn't hold up to its fantastic prequel. 6/10 - good scenes, boring film :/

This film was pretty bad; it undermines most of the other film's plot lines, the storyline goes pretty much nowhere and the effects look pretty fanmade at points (the scene of bb8 controlling an ATST as the ship falls apart comes to mind) Fins character arc goes nowhere and has any resolution is destroyed by the actions of rose. This seems like a continuous trend, Lukes character is ruined, he saw the light in darth vader yet is willing to kill his nephew... lets hope episode 9 is less "subversive", and actually tries to be a good movie. 4/10 - the worst star wars movie yet :|
