A repetitive, on-rails horror game with three terrible, terrible endings. Not worth the slog.

A fairly unsatisfying RPG that fails to innovate on previous titles. Lackluster storylines, terrible NPC relationships, strange design choices, and the usual Walking & Inventory Management Simulator gameplay makes this a pretty disappointing and over-hyped release.

The only reason I'm giving this a 7 is because of the amount of effort spent building such a huge open world game, fairly decent dialogue, and likeable characters. Otherwise, it's just another buggy rehash. You can lose yourself in open world games like these, but when you're being attacked by OP boars (or having quest givers be killed by them), being spotted through walls, or just having the game outright bug out and crash... meh. 3/10 Assassin's Creed Game 10/10 Ubisoft Rehash 6/5 Polished AAA game

The original game felt small and oppressive, but this sequel is vast, sprawling, and lacking that essential dystopian feel of the original. The VO and script seems exceptionally weak. I could probably overlook these complaints if I could get over 18fps in open environments. But I cant. So no.

Life is Strange

There are some fancy quotes out there saying this is a cross between Gone Home, [Telltale Game's] The Walking Dead, and Twin Peaks -- and Life is Strange makes no apologies for that; the musical direction and general vibe is akin to Gone Home, the interactive storytelling is akin to Telltale Games, and the atmosphere and story are unabashedly Twin Peaks (one homage is literally driven home). Life is Strange is an enjoyable cinematic experience that's admittedly a little rough around the edges. 10% of the voice acting is hit/miss but the VO for the main characters absolutely nail it. One or two of the "revelations" come a little too late as you've already cottoned on far beyond when the protagonist should have realised. These are only minor gripes made all the more visible because the rest of the game is so beautiful, emersive, and engaging that when you encounter them you have no choice but to acknowledge them. Don't let them distract you from how impressive this game is. I've got very high hopes for the next batch of episodes of Life is Strange and a genuine interest in how the story unfolds. Buy it. Buy it now.

Great visuals, great score, and it's fantastic to be able to play in the various areas of Tamriel... I just wish it wasn't released unfinished, buggy, unbalanced, and essentially still a beta game. Every update fixes some seriously broken mechanics and usually seriously breaks a bunch of others. Paying $15/month for a game that doesn't remotely feel complete is an insult. I never thought I'd say this, but: unless this becomes F2P, I won't be playing it again.

Ridiculously buggy to the point of not even being playable. As always, the storyline and voice acting are superb, but the majority of the game is action based and nothing ever, ever works properly. AC3 spits on the legacy of the franchise and should be ignored. Disasterous.

Mass Effect 3

Fans of the first two Mass Effect games might find the return of the weapons/mods system a little frustrating and the dialogue a little lacklustre and forced. Aside from those two things, the rest of the game is on par with the previous two: action, adventure, awe-inspiring cinematics. The decisions made by your Shephard do have serious consequences in the third game but no one seems to want to recognise that fact, focusing instead of how little impact they have on the very final cut-scenes and decisions of the game. I don't see any reason why they should. Regardless of how much people think the ending was disappointing or pick on a few minor problems with the game mechanics, ME3 is still a very good game and hardly deserves a zero score. It falls short of being a 10 experience, but play it through, finish it, give it a few days and you'll start to appreciate how good the game actually is.
