Finally a decent piece of television on HBO with pleasant lead and limited amount of preaching. Enjoyable

Sometimes funny. Sometimes way too obvious. Too much thinly veiled disgust for certain demographics. And inexcusable cliffhanger at the end

Worst of the current disney productions, it follows every trope, cringe and plothole shallowness of current generation of screenwriters - this is not JUST boring to watch, but transcends straight to insulting.

This is just so insulting to watch. It insults viewer's intelligence, insults men, insults women, its just garbage made by someone that must actually dislike their audience. Netflix, wtf are you doing?

Somehow, somewhere, a masterpiece - from awesome animation to a great story and characters, this show has barely any weakness to talk about. Definitely best show of 2021 for me.

Once again, the Disney show is boring yet feels preachy. Legacy characters don't retain a shred of dignity and it generally feels ... just badly written. A waste of time.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Season 1

This appears to be the more of the same as previous recent Star Treks - instead of focus on sci-fi, we get modern gender tropes (you know, men weak and stupid, women flawless) situated in incoherent, boring stories.

Somehow, this show with cheesy name had no right to be as good as it actually is. Casting is inexplicably good, screenplay works, the show is fun to watch and there's just so much potential. It's unbelievable that the show was dropped by Syfy. Season 1 is quality television and definitely better than most of the current production.

Unless this is a TV show focused on simpletons and pre-school children, it can't excuse the horrible lazy writing and plotholes. Watching this is really not a pleasant experience.

Sanditon

Sanditon is a simpler, dumbed-down version of Pride and Prejudice 2005 - characters are a bit more shallow, story arcs are a bit more obvious, schemes a bit more crude and as a result it doesn't watch so seamlessly as Pride and Prejudice did. Also I'm complaining about needless, ham-fisted politicization of the show that breaks immersion into a period drama - best example is perhaps the main protagonist Rose Williams - while very pleasant to look upon and believable enough, she gets to play a Mary Sue: as the whole Sanditon changes around her, she herself has no journey and remains untouched by events, judging all other period characters from afar with her contemporary, flawless 2020 ethics. Nevertheless I did like the cinematography and production value of the show (production sure made a lot of effort to show the best possible imagery of English coast, and they did so quite well) so as a result I give it well earned 6/10.

Watchmen (2019): Season 1

I'm giving a 1, because of 2 reasons: 1. It has NOTHING to do with Watchmen. It's baiting. This is a show about cops chasing white supremacists in country settings. Shameful false advertising to tie it to Watchmen comic book. If you wanna build a following, do it with good writing and good acting, creators. 2. The plot is outrageous. Literally - it's manufactured to outrage and apply to our lowest instincts. It creates unnatural, improbable world of extremely racist people to invoke some moral lessons about real (i.e. completely different, non-black-and-white) world. Handmaiden's tale is the same thing for women's dystopia. Camp of the Saints is the same thing for actual racists dystopia. All these stories are bad storytelling and frankly little different from populist demagogy.

The only negative - it's way too short! Other than that, I have nothing to complain about.
