The game has horrific graphics and some decent, but repetitive action gameplay. Sadly the game is largely held back by very poor writing direction that seems intended to be annoying rather than interesting. So it has achieved its goal: it has annoyed me. I've played thru the game and immediately traded it for a better game, would not buy if I knew how bad this was.

Seems pretty overrated. There's a big emphasis on flashy cinematics over gameplay, the latter being atrocious. Very few reskinned bosses and repetitive enemies and environment. Gentle Kratos, no brutality. Weak GoW game, should be renamed after something else because this is not GoW....

My favorite game of the year so far. The combat takes some getting used to but after it clicks it's a blast. This game reminds me a lot of tenchu and going thru roofs stealth killing stuff is a blast.

Coming from games like Hollow Knight and The Messenger, I was pretty disappointed about spending $20 on this game(thanks hype machine!). Unlike HK or TM, this game controls like a turd. The graphics are nothing to write home about and neither is the music. You know modern gaming journalism is a joke when mediocre games keep getting high scores. If you are a thinking person who doesn't gets easily swayed by pathetic hyping, this is a hard pass. If you absolutely must play this game, just wait until it's on sale for like 10$ or lower

Watched the trailer for The Messenger and purchased the game soon after. Knew I was in for a good ride and was not disappointed. From the mesmerizing pixel art, to the succulent soundtrack masterpiece and into the seriously challenging but manageable platforming, even some good humor. This game is packed with soul, a must buy and one the best games of 2018.
