A mediocre show to begin with that became ridiculous at the end. Decent cast but very weak story.

America's Culinary Cup6
Mar 8, 2026
The first episode was a bit dull. Too much talk and not enough cooking. The H2H format didn't generate much and the stupid scoreboard takes too much time from cooking. Padma whining about making a tough decision was painful. Have everyone running to get ingredients, have time limits, and show them cooking all together. Also less of the judges is better than more.

All Her Fault6

Have not watched it all, yet, but every main character I want to be hit by a bus. Did the writers understand that people want to watch a show with a character you want to care about. Good writing can make the **** character worth caring about. Rich white people are horrible and maybe we should stop writing about them.

Your Friends & Neighbors5
Aug 21, 2025
Pleasant with too many divergences that they leave on the side of the road, including the major plot twist of his becoming a B&E guy. Hamm plays to his strength and we ride along. His sister and friend Barney help but the rest of the characters we don't care about. His attorney should have her license revoked. Season 2 continues adding new plots without adding good plots. The B&E plot obviously was not sustainable. Too bad. I have reduced my score.

Welcome to Wrexham7

A very enjoyable show when it focuses on the town, the fans, the players, and the people who manage the club at the local level. Whenever Rob or Ryan are on the screen it is cringe... super cringe when they address the players. I assume they are being human and have stepped into an area where they lack knowledge or skill. What is shocking is that know one has told them to stick to conversations about the managing of the club and its finances. It does come across that they care for the club and the town, which, at times, overrides that they are awkward as **** when doing anything involving the players or the games

Patience6
Jun 24, 2025
Having watched Astrid et Raphaëlle, Patience is a weak version of the original. I assume at some point I will stop watching as it doesn't have the hook that Astrid does. Too bad but we see this often that the original has bite and the imitator has only bark.

Give them all the awards, Drama, Actress, Supporting Actresses, and Supporting Actor. It is funny, sexy, and sad.

Say Nothing8

The series gets better with each episode. It is horrifying in its subtlety regarding the horror. People died, people suffered, and few escaped unscathed. The acting is seriously good. It is a single watch but it is a good single watch.

Silo: Season 26
Feb 6, 2025
The protagonist ends Season 1 doing something astonishing. It is quickly forgotten as is she. Season 2 works with a muddled story involving minor characters. The protagonist is minimized and many of her scenes are in the dark. Crazy dark, almost pitch black. We are slogging to the end as if it is penance and hoping Season 3 is not as big a cluster **** as 2. BTW, whoever thought Common could act?

Laid (2024)6
Jan 29, 2025
Having watched the Australian version years back, the major difference is how the protagonist is written, The American "serial killer" is an annoying person who often gets her comeuppance with her friends and seemingly never learns. The possible second season hopefully improves as the new reveals at the end of the first season were laid bare.

Blue Lights: Season 27
Jul 1, 2024
Season 2 misses Gerry. He was the personality and we've been left with what looks to be a much more dull show. Maybe they can give it life but after two episodes it smells like most police procedurals in a different environment.

MaryLand6

Once you get past the interesting premise, the show lets you down episode by episode. So many characters are stand-ins with nothing to do or nothing to say. We never quite know why Mary ends up on the island or why no one seems to know she was there. Yes, the husband knows but he is pretty tight-lipped as were her friends.

A Murder at the End of the World7
Dec 21, 2023
Two stories running in parallel where the past is far stronger than the present. I'd dedicate more time with Bill and Darby chasing serial killers than the present which is another in a long string of Boors Behaving Badly. If Darby was the murderer and killed them all, except Bill, I'd cheer.

Last Call: When A Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York: Season 19
Aug 9, 2023
Rare true crime docuseries that shows empathy to the victims, their families, and their community. It gave enough historical references for the viewer to understand the climate for those under siege while offering up enough whodunit to keep those interested whose appetites lean heavily in that direction.

Mrs. Davis: Season 110
Jun 16, 2023
It forces you to pay attention to what is going on and why but it is worth doubling back, if need be. Gilpin carries it but the remainder of the cast aren't slouches, either. Eight episodes was enough and not enough.

Platonic: Season 11
May 31, 2023
Was this written by 1,000 monkeys at the 1,000 typewriters and they used the first draft? Add to that Seth Rogen can't act. It is irredeemable.

Fleishman Is in Trouble6
Jan 8, 2023
It is hard to watch a show whose characters dissolve into unwatchable. When Libby and Toby share tears at the end I have no tears to share for them. I felt sympathy for Rachel who needed help for years and never received it. The others lost my empathy. It's not nearly as good at the end as it was at the beginning.

I Hate Suzie: Season 29
Jan 7, 2023
Season 2 was madness. Piper is tremendous as her character attempts to wriggle in and out of problems of her own making. It is excruciating in the best way.

Van der Valk: Season 26
Oct 2, 2022
First season lacked soul. In detective stories it's the main character that needs to stand on their own feet and Van Der Valk is a snooze.

Ozark6
May 21, 2022
A mediocre series that threw everything it could at the wall to keep it moving forward. The strength of the series was its tone and Ruth. The top of this class, like Breaking Bad, are re-watchable, Ozark isn't.

Painting With John: Season 29
Mar 22, 2022
It's possibly a failing of mine that I continue to watch as nothing happens of any consequence. But I'd be an even more ardent fan if the show was looking over his shoulder watching him paint and listening to one of his stories from the past. All we have to see is his hand and hear the words.

Great first few episdoes laying out the world and making sure Hiller gets plenty of airtime. I look forward to the remainder of the season.

Single Drunk Female: Season 17
Jan 27, 2022
First episode was written poorly. It was over-the-top of Mt. Everest. If mother and daughter fell off a cliff at the end of epi 1 there'd be a huge round of applause. Second episode was calmer and they did a better job though both mother and daughter lean toward cartoon characters. The rest of the cast attempts to depict better human beings which dampens the nastiness. My score is about as high as I think they can climb. If you want to watch a rehab story with plenty of humor and better lead characters then watch This Way Up.

The Gilded Age: Season 14
Jan 27, 2022
The first episode seemed to outline many of the battles by the characters holding big signs as they spoke. There was almost no reason to go further. If costumes and backdrops are what you want in an 1890's version of the Real Housewives is your thing this will please but if well-written rich drama that takes time to unfold is what you want then go elsewhere.

Mare of Easttown7

Solid through episode 6 but the last episode is a disaster. The multiple twists piled on were poorly executed. Does anyone in town believe in lawyers?

Master of None: Season 32
May 31, 2021
Could not get past the first half of the first episode. If there has been worse dialogue in a show at any time in the history of man, I haven't heard it. Shakespeare would come back from the dead to slap the writer's faces.

Van der Valk: Season 17
Sep 18, 2020
First episode was fine but they need to bring something more to the main character. VDV is too much in the middle to be of any true interest and the lead detective is who drives the show. Sherlock, Vera, Endeavour, Wallander, Morse, Luther, Tennyson, and many others all have qualities that are definable and unique. VDV has to be pushed in a direction or he's dull, which means the show's dull, too.
