Sits in the same territory as the movie for me. It’s just ok. This is not a version of the world of Batman that I really care about. I love me some Colin Ferrel though and he’s great as this worlds Penguin, but the best slice at a mid pizzeria isn’t much of an accomplishment.

I want to like this more than I did. it just kind of falls flat for me. It’s silly but in general I don’t like Hair Metal, Americana, or much else the show has to offer. The general vibe feels off too. It’s almost like Gunn decided to just mashed up his version of the “Guardians” with the vibe of “Super” and the result is very off putting. There’s almost a self loathing feeling here. A love for the character but hatred for the genre maybe? Maybe there was some pent up negative energy left over from Gunns “cancellation” with Disney that it comes through in this show as cynicism or something. It’s a surprising reaction from me though. Perhaps a rewatch will change my mind.

According to this show, common sense is just a mix of stupidity greed and arrogance. Throw in some misogyny and racism and you have yourself a Taylor Sheridan hit! (And his entire personality too!)

Embarrassingly bad. Aside from Cougar Town, I’ve loved all of the Bill Lawrence series, but this one falls massively short. I feel the only ones giving this a great review are those who have such a love for Steve Carrel, likely from the office, that they convince themselves this is watchable. But Carrell hasn’t been good since the 2000s, his ego outgrew his ability to be likeable on screen.
