The world was aesthetically interesting, but the story was fairly generic and uninteresting. The main characters infatuation with some girl he dated 7 years ago is just your standard Hollywood trope of being in love. When he grows up a bit and see's how stupid it is, he still gets the girl anyway.

The dog was cute, the rest of the movie felt like what you would get if Joe Rogan wrote the story about how man domesticated dogs.
