Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die3

Not my cup of tea. Expectations, right? I was hoping for a fun unhinged sci-fi adventure, I got presumptuous nihilistic AI comedy. The jokes, despite the excellent Sam Rockwell, were cringely unfunny. The story, predictable... from the 2nd half of the movie... otherwise I wouldn't have watched it... duh. The drama blunt and shallow. It's like a candy, which looks interesting and weird, but tastes just like candy-coated peanuts. Horrible aftertaste.

Most hard core sci-fi fans will point out this is more of a comedy than a hard sci-fi movie. In my opinion, some directors make sure to complicate stories to make them more "cerebral", more intellectual (AHAM, Interstellar...?). NOW, to turn something inherently difficult into a straightforward, wholesome, accessible and STILL visually mesmerizing, it's brilliant.

This is one of those movies whose best jokes are already on the trailer. Who would say Damian Lewis wouldn't know comedy? Other than him the cast is quite competent, the direction, however, is not. There are indeed some hilarious moments, and quite a few snoozy ones. Watch it at the movie theatre! The temptation to look at the mobile at some moments is too big.

This movie is such a mess, but still holds some entertainment value. It's completely unpretensious - maybe Kevin James is an exception, I honestly can't say if he is able to be that bad on purpose. You must watch it either with your kids or a much older uncle so you both can make fun of the preposterous plotline.
