Ranggasaurus

Findings in a research project are indeed the ultimate goal a researcher aims to achieve. However, the director doesn't expect that from this film's audience to become part of the research team. I felt free to take either a human perspective or that ****, since both are researchers in their own right, haha. One thing is for certain: the 2.5-hour duration truly immerses us in the actual process itself, far from the condensed format of a paper or an abstract.

For a newbie to the sci-fi genre like me, watching this movie was a lot of fun, statement. I found at least three surprising things. I think these are spoilers, but I'll try my best to hide them. First, the appearance of Grace's friend HAHAHA. This really satisfied my ego! And maybe yours too if you were hoping for this plot. Second, I thought Grace's friend was going to die. It felt a bit half-hearted for a sacrifice, but I think it was the best path for their goal. Third, Grace went to her friend's house!!! My ego was truly satisfied by this movie. This film feels really relatable to my own life as an Asian, especially as an Indonesian. The conversations between Wang Wang, his older sister, his mother, and his Nai Nai also feel familiar to me as someone who grew up in a Javanese family culture. The choices Wang Wang makes, and even the little lies he tells, remind me of things I also did. Sometimes I just wanted to look cool, or at least not look bad, especially in front of friends or a crush. Home has always been the safest place for me to be myself. That’s why Wang Wang doesn’t avoid conflict with his sister and his mom. I believe identity is something that needs to be built strongly, so a boy can grow up feeling proud of himself.
