Have only watched the first episode. Just a casual Tolkien fan. Read the LOTRings once. Really enjoyed the Jackson trilogy. Hated his Hobbit trilogy. This is better than that, but not by much. It's dull. Really dull. So dull, that I'm not bothering to continue with the show.

Best pilot ep for a Trek show since Emissary. Trek pilots usually range from awful to meh. Anson Mount was great in Discovery, and he's just as great here. Haven't been this excited to watch a next episode since DS9. I like the newer Trek shows, Voyager, and Enterprise--but I think there might be something extra special brewing with this one.

Obviously it doesn't have the production values of Game of Thrones, but I have to be honest. I enjoyed it nearly as much as the first season of GOT, and even more than that show's most recent season. This show also has a sense of humor and dialogue that wouldn't be out of place in a Joss Whedon show about a certain Vampire Slayer. Great stuff.

Based on the first 2 episodes it's very good Trek. Production value is actually higher than usual for a Trek show and the acting was top notch. Haven't met the whole cast yet, because the first 2 eps are kind of a prologue to what the main story will be. The **** crowd hates it because it has a female person of color in the lead role. That is the basis for all these hateful reviews. Sad world we live in.

Wow. I almost always agree with the consensus of critics, but not this time. This is a really fun and funny show. I gave it a chance because I thought the trailer was funny. Glad I did, because the first two episodes have been really great. Not every show has to have the depth of The Leftovers or Twin Peaks to be considered a successful endeavor.

The entire thing just feels silly now. So does real life in America in 2017 though. I'm not sure if this is the dumbest and soapiest House of Cards season ever--or its most brilliant. So, I'm giving it a 5 down the middle. I rolled my eyes and laughed a lot during the season--but I do the same thing every morning when Kim Jong Orange decides to tweet something stupid to the planet. It's fun to watch, I give it that.

Giving it a 10 for originality and for its unique voice. It is a bit uneven in places--another draft or two of the scripts would have helped and some of CK's casting decisions are just plain bad (he nailed all of the main parts though). At the end of the day, it's a very funny, very shocking, and very sad series about a sad, dysfunctional family who run a neighborhood bar.

Silliness. AMC doesn't have Heisenberg and Jesse cooking meth anymore--so instead they have close ups of some other guy cooking fancy food while hipster guitar licks play on the soundtrack. Those sequences are cringe worthy. The mob stuff doesn't work either. The only redeeming thing in the show? David Schwimmer isn't bad at all--can't say the same for the show. Bad misstep for AMC.

Now this is more like it. After two disappointing seasons, House of Cards rebounds. The fat has been trimmed off the subplots, and the main storyline is much more interesting. Spacey (who frankly seemed bored last season) is wonderful, but it's Robin Wright who the season belongs to. She's pitch perfect. The supporting cast is just as good with a standout being Boris McGiver's work as Tom. Great looking show as always. I'm happy to say again that I"m looking forward to next season already. It's exactly like Sons of Anarchy--only even sillier. This time it's hillbillies instead of bikers--and they ride 4 wheelers instead of motorcycles. It even stars Opie from Sons of Anarchy playing the exact same character, with the same hair and clothes. It's manly men doing manly things like murdering, robbing, and getting drunk, so I'm sure it will go over big with the Donald Trump alpha male crowd. Everyone else should avoid it like the plague.

The creators of this show have really done something quite difficult. They've created a spin-off show with a completely different tone from its origin (Breaking Bad)--but equal in its quality. It's also not necessary to have seen Breaking Bad to watch and enjoy it, although you'll miss out on a pretty fun Easter Egg hunt each week. One of the top 3 shows on TV right now, and the premiere of the second season was a solid 10. Season 1 is on Netlix now. Go watch and enjoy.

Very disappointing like most of King's adaptations. James Franco is miscast as Jake, the story feels extremely rushed, and it deviates from King's novel so much that it turns a somber meditation on the ills of America over the last 50 years to a Back to the Future remake. If you're going to change a novel (like Kubrick did with the Shining) --by all means create your own art--but don't minimize it by making a joke out of it. Awful.

The brilliance of the early X Files was that you were always given just enough information in the conspiracy episodes to keep watching the conspiracy episodes. None of it was ever really explained--and in the later seasons when the writers tried to give the audience the answers they wanted--it didn't work, because there weren't any answers to begin with. This addendum is a lot of fun though, if you like nostalgia. I was hoping they would be the monster of the week variety--but they are conspiracy based instead. Know what you're getting into ahead of time and you will probably enjoy yourself. Duchovny and Anderson are terrific regardless of my problems with the show.

He is a miserable sod (understandably) who is mean and rude to everyone around him--and quite honestly it's difficult as an audience member putting up with his moping and woe is me attitude. Found myself wishing he would just suicide by the third or fourth episode. James Nesbitt is a fine actor--but making this character as written as the lead in the show was a mistake.
