As somebody who watched the original series as a kid, yeah I was dissapointed by this rendition as well. As I was beginning to start the stream I was wondering why the show wasn't called "He-Man: Masters of the Universe Revelation", and I got the answer to that really quick. It's not a horrible cartoon. In fact the animations look great. The story is a bit so so though, and the motivation of Teela is a bit forced if not weird. Somebody just died and saved your life and the entire universe, and she can only think of being pissed off because she was lied to..... seems a bit weird to make the storytelling drive of your main hero for her to be a selfish brat, but ok. I was a bit let down by some of the voice acting honestly. Especially the actress who voiced Teela (who I am now finding out was Sarah Michelle Gellar, ok that's pretty cool) who at certain times literally seemed as if the was reading her lines as opposed to expressing emotions with her voice. "You're hurting her" without any emotion at all as one of her old friends gets seemingly hurt by Evil-Lyn. Orko? I think if it was made clear from the start this show was about the universe as opposed to about the original main character. [I mean, he's front and centre in the show's 'poster' as well] Then I think my dissapointment would have been a bit less. But they basically made a He-Man show without him, and when he was around he was made a bit incompotent as to apparantly make another character look better. I mean, this whole mess starts because he basically was gauded by Skeletor to lunge at him. So yeah. Not a horrible cartoon, certainly not a great one. If you're a fan of the old show then you will dislike it a bit more than somebody who was new to this franchise.

The entire 9th season feels like you're watching one of those parody movies like Scary Movie where they make fun of the horror genre. Only this show isn't played for laughs but still feels like it. There's some plot twists and curves throughout the season, there's actually so many of them that again it makes you think you're watching a parody, however to be fair the show does make you want to know how it all ends. But even the final episode is a bit of a letdown. Like most of the season really.

I'm old enough to have seen the original on tv when it aired. And while I can see how this version of She-Ra pretty much shoves homosexuality into the faces of the viewers that it might make some people uncomfortable, especially since the original show wasn't about that at all. I honestly can't see how somebody could rate this show as a 0. This is an amazing cartoon. I'm a grown old man, and even I was like "Yeah! Get him!" when Adora was confronted by Prime in the last season, but then transformed. The show does a great job at creating humor, sadness and happyness within the viewer. And has created some entertaining characters in birdhorse :D Scorpia, and Sea Hawk to name a few. I was honestly oblivious to Catra's true feelings, that the 'reveal' (for me at least it was) made me understand a bit more why she was so mad when Adora left her side in season 1. A great show with a perfect series' end. As an 80s child, this wasn't what I expected from a She-Ra revival. But damn, I loved this fantastic 5 season ride.

I was gearing up to disliking the Watchmen series, as I was seeing all these bad reviews with "this has nothing to do with Watchmen" and whatnot. Let me preface this review by stating that I am a comic book reader. I have read Watchmen for the first time decades ago. And while I obviously love the idea of there being more Watchmen outside the original comic for me to consume, those newer works mostly didn't really impress me that much. Like DC's group of mini series they published a couple of years or back or the movie adaptation. But damn, I loved this show. In the beginning I was sceptic because honestly it didn't feel like there was any association with Watchmen at all besides the name of the show. However after being a couple of episodes in, I started to realise that this was actually exactly what I want in a new Watchmen product. Not lookin at the past like the newer comics did, not an adaptation of the original Watchmen comic like the movie which would never live up to the comic itself, but a continuation of what happens next in the Watchmen universe. And the association with the Watchmen universe becomes a whole lot more important as you watch on. This was an great season (or mini series I guess) with an ending I loved where people can decide for themselves what happened. I am in the camp that she wasn't able to do it. One of the things that will stick with me is the fantastic 45 minutes of television which was the flashback episode. That episode looked and evoked emotion in an amazing way. If I had to compare it to something, I would say it's like that flashback episode in Twin Peaks season 3, or Legion season 1. Great television all. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews, but to each their own I guess. I thoroughly enjoyed the first and only season of the Watchmen tv show. I'd easily recommend it to everybody. Especially if you're a fan of the Watchmen comic.

I'm at season 6 of this show currently, and I have decided to stop watching. I've stuck with this show to see if I ever got to the part as to explain why it gets such high praise, but I apparantly already watched the "best" part of House MD with the first 3 seasons. And even those were just ok. House is a horrible human being. Not only that but he isn't even an amazing doctor, as we get shown every week because he's wrong 80% of the time. Yet despite this everybody around him still acts as if he's the medical messiah. To the point where they excuse and aid his illegal drug addiction and his antics. He almost killed a baby simply to prove he was right (he was wrong). I get tv shows aren't realistic. Hence why I can ignore the almost weekly occurrence where doctors break into houses to see what the cause of a disease might be.... But showing the viewers that House is not only a despicable human, but a bad doctor at that. Then how everybody praises him despite his obvious shortcomings becomes just too unbelievable. He would have been fired even if he was a great doctor, let alone one who misdiagnoses patients on a weekly basis. At times with life threatening consequences. During the run of the show the rest of the characters turn into unlikeable persons as well. I can not honestly name one of the cast who I would want to root for. Maybe Wilson, but even he has shown to be manipulative. I mean if the show was funny or there was some intriguing story, then one could forgive all the these characters. 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' has more horrible characters, but they are funny. However House is simply a hospital procedural which follows a pretty basic formula: House doesn't want to take a case - House gets intrigued by a case - the entire team misdiagnose the disease - in the last 10 minutes they miraculously find out what the actual disease is - House acts like a doofus throughout the show. That's 90% of House MD, the rest of the show is used to make all the characters unlikeable with all their personal stories.

This show was better when it was about American football players. As the show progressed into the later seasons, and it become more about basically anything else, my enjoyment of watching it became less and less. The season where they tried to move a club to a different city basically came out of nowhere and started the downfall. They went from being strugling agents of players, to big money world shakers within seconds. Especially weird as Spencer made such a big deal about a previous bad money deal which also affected some of his friends, and that he wouldn't put other's finances at risk again (as an agent). He does exactly that when trying to move the club to Vegas a season later.... The show gets worse in the last 2 seasons when the Sports X venture comes onto the scene, and the show becomes less and less about "Ballers". The first 2 seasons are worth the watch, I'd almost advise to stop watching after the 2nd season end. But you will probably want to see more of some of the characters portrayed in the show, that you will keep on watching anyway despite the quality drop. The later seasons bring the overall score down though.

I wanted to write a big post how many things in this season make no sense. Danny needing to get trained by Colleen. Joy's motivation, or rather lack of. That horrible dinner scene. Those annoying kids who assault, rob and attempt murder but "we should try to help them" anyway, I guess. That there's no helping the miscasting of Danny Rand. The complete miss-use of Typhoid Mary's character into something totally different and boring. That nobody owned gun to just shoot Davos, no let's fight him mano a mano instead so he can use his power.... But the show is cancelled. The only good thing to come from 2 seasons Iron Fist was Colleen Wing.

Yes! Arrow is finally back. I can't talk for anybody else, but I felt this show along with many of the other CW DC universe shows have hit a bit of a lull. Where the shows have been just 'ok', or worse, instead of hitting their highs from previous seasons. But the first episode of this season, finally a really well done and interesting set-up for the show. For the first time I was glued to the screen for the whole episode as I actually wanted to see what happens next. Mystery, action, good characterisation. Hopefully this episode sets the tone for the entire season.

It was the premise that reeled me in, and the execution which hooked me. You can read the description for 'Counterpart' to know this is a show about a portal to a parallel universe being 'discovered' during the Cold War era. This was done by German scientists, so the story takes place in present day Germany. With the excellent J.K. Simmons acting as somebody, without knowing it himself as this portal is not known to the general public, who works at a bureau that deals with communications to the other side. Much like the era the portal was discovered in, the relation between the 2 universes is much like the Cold War relation between the US and Russia. And we find out in further episodes why, as we get tidbits that things haven't exactly been friendly between the two sides. There are some parallels with Fringe, but Counterpart takes a more realistic approach to it. This is basically the Cold War with a sci-fi flavour, and it works like a charm. There's mystery, there's murders, there's multiple factions at work following their own agendas. There's a whole lot of good storytelling in this show, and they have me completely hooked. This is must see tv.

I liked it. For all the negative reviews regarding the racist white cops: it was actually a white and a black cop that pulled him over the first time on a flimsy basis. So not just a white person. The 2nd time at the club the cops actually had a good reason to stop him considering he had blood on his clothes and was leaving a crime scene. And most of the bad guys in the first episode are **** how exactly does this series in any way say it's not "ok to be white"? I'm white, I felt ok. Meh. Ignoring the overreaction: Black Lightning gives a new dynamic to the CW superhero-verse by giving us a superhero in a family situation with him living with his daughters. I thought the casting is well done and the actors do their job very well. The fx looked more than ok, and the fight scenes were simmilar. It also gave a good explanation why we haven't seen the character before in the 'Arrowverse' for him having a reason to not have donned the costume for years. Though I felt they went a little overboard with him not wanting to be violent or do anything against it (somebody pulls a gun on his daughter, and after overpowering him he just says to the perp there are cameras around so don't be dumb? Really?) but apart from that and the costume, which I'm guessing will look even worse in the daylight, I thought it was a solid first episode. Not great, but solid.

Wow, I did not expect to like this series as much as I do. I just binge watched both seasons, and I'm still left wanting for more. Let me start by saying I don't really care one way or another Del Toro is attached to this, to be honest I didn't even know he created this property. I saw somebody mention his name was the only reason this show was getting good reviews. Yeah... I'm going to have to disagree with that. The animations look great obviously, so there's that. However the main thing I like about the show are the characters (Not-Enrique, come on..come on) and the dialogues. Which are very likeable and fun. Considering I haven't been a child for a long time now, I have to say Trollhunters is doing a very good job at being an all-ages tv show. You have the fight scenes for the kids, and things like the Breakfast Club episode for the older generation. There's not much new happening in the 2nd season as opposed to the first, but then I don't really think it needs to. I mean they fight trolls, it's in the name, not many different ways you can go with that. It expands the story a bit, and the stakes do get higher. Much higher actually. The only real 'negative' for this season is because of it being only half the number of episodes, and there being more of a focus on the bully and the nerd (who are great!), we get to see a bit less of the other characters. So basically my complaint it there should be more episodes, which I guess is a good thing.... And the last few episodes. Fantastic. The emotional/being in awe moment with the music kicking in with Claire. Totally worked. I got a litte goose bumpy. Trollhunters did good. You did really good.

I can't help but feel the Seinfeld references, with it being a show about nothing, was sort of alluding to how the first half of season 2 of Mr Robot would be. Because not a lot happens. Basically we get it pounded into our minds over and over again how the main character is crazy, which was already known since season 1 but I guess we needed to be shown that again. Over and over. Ignoring that we get these redundant scenes, I also feel there's a lot of padding in the sense scenes take longer than necessary. We need to be shown for almost 3 minutes that a smart house became a noise hell due to hacking. The same with a chess scene, where we find out you can't beat yourself playing chess........ There are a lot of these kind of scenes, which feel stretched out because frankly there was not much else happening to fill the time better with. Probably due to the big 'reveal' midway in the season which pretty much made most of what you saw in the first half of the season pointless. Because of this constraint they couldn't really further the story.. A reveal which made no sense at all, because why would he lie to his 'invisible firend' to begin with? Other than the writers wanting to force another "Fight Club"-esque reveal moment into the season. It's the 2nd half of the season which sort of saves it in my opinion. mainly because things actually happen and the story gets furthered along. Yeah some characters are turning into charicatures with their speeches or conversations which seem unrealistic. Especially the 'bad guy' and the sister. And we get some silly scenes with the girlfriend being tested by a little girl. But at least things happened, for real and not make believe,

Charming, fun, exciting, weird. Mix 'em all together and you get this show. What a pleasant surprise Dirk Gently has been. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about the series, and came out a fan.

While I wouldn't say Legends is a very good show, it is definitely the most 'fun' of the superhero shows out there. This show doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's what makes it and the characters in it likeable in my opinion. It's probably the most "silver age" superhero show out there, considering all kinds of crazy can happen in an episode. What it also does better than some of the other DCU shows, is that it makes you care about the characters. I actually care one of the member's died (still hoping time travel finds a way to remedy that, but it seems that won't be used) I care that another one has seemingly left because of it. I'm very happy to see Captain Cold return, but damn, I'll miss those 2 characters who helped build a fun dynamic. So yeah, not a great or ground breaking show, but it doesn't need to be. I like it well enough.

I think Mindhunter was interesting, it has it's faults but overall I think it's an 'ok' watch. My main gripe with the show is that some of the characters come off as unrealistic due to their speech and some also due to their acting (be it intended or not). The main character in particular. Everybody, up to a high school dropout, has a high vocabulary in this series. This is not how normal people talk. "Gregorious"..."morose"...a woman who was furious that her life had been ruined used that word in a sentence. I'm sorry, but unrealistic. The main character: I'm not sure if he's intended to act simmilar like Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory, to either make him a possible a serial killer in the future, or to show that being around serial killers is affecting his behaviour. But it's weird, and not in a good way. Which again makes him feel unrealistic, and takes (me) out of the story. The story though is great. Showing how the FBI is beginning to respond to new type of killers which seemed to emerge in the 60s, and using new profiling techniques to be able to catch them. Throwing a few cases at the team to show that their methods are working. I thought it was interesting and had no problem watching it untill the end even despite what I conceive to be faults of the show. But yeah, I didn't think it was great, but good enough.

I want to like this show, but I just can't. Supergirl is the weakest out of all the DCU tv shows, and considering I don't find any of them 'really' good , that's really not that great. Half of the show isn't even about Supergirl, but focuses on the gay relationship of her adopted sister. I don't find it a problem that homosexuality is brought into this show, it's just that it's not really interesting. Much like Supergirl's relationship with Mon-El the season before and the aftermath of him leaving at the beginning of this season. It's drama for drama's sake, and badly done to the point it's cringe worthy. I am actually missing Cat Grant's character. Because even with her uber liberal traits the writers have given her to be used as their propaganda machine (and I consider myself a liberal, but there's something like being over the top) she was more interesting to watch than any of the characters still around this season. I think the biggest problem of the show, is that the writers are failing at making the viewer actually give a damn about any of these characters. I don't care about her sister, I don't care about the woman with her kid, making Jim(my) Olsen the Guardian was a dumb storyline by itself but it pretty much went nowhere and he's just there to smile right now being the boss of Catco (another strange decision) Mon-El left the planet and I just went 'meh'. This is also not helped because the storylines by themselves aren't making you want to watch by giving Supergirl forgettable enemies. But if they make you care about the characters, you can deal with the bad stories. Neither is the case here though.

"Good men do bad things; and bad men do things believing it's for the good of all mankind." This line by Anderson Dawes pretty much sums up The Expanse. There are no real clear cut good guys here. Much like reality, things tend to be a bit more complex. And I'm loving every second of seeing how this story unfolds. This is a top quality (sci-fi) series. If you're not watching the Expanse, you're missing out. This show is quickly rising up my all-time best tv shows list.

I usually don't give such a high score for anything, as I always believe things can still be better than they were. It's hard to think that about the first season of The Expanse though. This series is simply amazing. From the acting, to it's multi-layered story, to the fx and the scenery. I honestly feel this is one of the best (sci-fi) series I have ever watched. I just rewatched the entire 1st season to get ready to get started with the 2nd one, and it still had me captivated from start to end. There's a lot of story and characterisation being put in the episodes that a second watch was actually very worth it. Also to see the little things I missed, like the ship navigator of the Rocinante taking the side of the Martians in the first few episodes in his disbelief that they could be behind what happened. Let's start with the fx. You will think you are watching a movie with the budget that goes along with it. That's how good the fx and the backgrounds are. You won't think you are watching a series from the small screen. At all. Whoever did the casting of the Expanse deserves a raise, as every actor is on their A game. The detective is (obviously) my favourite, but the crew of the Rocinante and even the characters who make short appearances. Not one second did anybody bring me out of the story, that I didn't believe this was 'real', The scenes and fx naturally help with the immersion, but so did the excellent acting. And now to the best - and most important part: the story. From the very first episode you will want to find out what the heck happened. It takes you in and doesn't let you go as we find out little by little from 3 divergent perspectives (detective Miller, the Rosinante crew and to a lesser extent the UN undersecretary) the what, why and who. By the end of the season we get a good idea of the motivation, but not completely. Luckily a 2nd season has already been made where I imagine we get even more answers. And a 3rd is already in the works. If every season is as good as the 1st, then I honestly don't ever want this show to end. Great television, worth every recommendation available. Even if you're not into science fiction to be honest.

I liked the first season of The Missing, but the 2nd season I loved. The 'problem' of the first was that it focused too much on the parents of the missing child and their relationship while the 2nd season took the best thing from the previous (the investigator Baptiste) and put the focus mostly on him and the investigation. Obviously we are going to see the fallout of what a missing child does to a family, but I felt that was done better balanced than before. The storyline was a little more 'sensational' this time that it was unrealistic as what happens in the beginning of the series would never happen in real life. But this needn't be a documentary, and this story gave us more swirls and surprises than a more realistic one could have. I was entertained and interested how the writers progressed it along throughout the season. I thought the ending was also better and gave a more satisfying closure than the 1st season. To be honest I thought this season was going to be a continuation of that story because of it. Luckily it was an all new storyline. Very well done show, can't wait to see what they'll do in season 3.

Don't think because Mcfarlane is involved with this series, that it's a comedy. Because it isn't. This is pretty much Star Trek the Next Generation with at times a bit more comedic undertones. Which so far is a pretty good thing. To start of the fx and costumes look amazing, moreso when you think this is not the big screen but 'just' a tv show. The Krill (sort of reminiscent of the Jem'Hadar) are being made into a real threat to this version of the Federation. They are pretty much the underlying storyline throughout the season. I like the 'new' aliens. From the ultra strong race, the all male Moclans (the episodes which began as a joke on how exactly a race of all-males make children, turning into serious turn of events when the child turns out to have a 'deformity'; pretty much summarises this show) Hell I even like the slime being which is purely there for comedy. If you liked Star Trek, then there's a pretty good chance you will like The Orville. Don't let the critics' reviews make you think this show is bad (good advise for any show) because if you like sci-fi, this show is doing a pretty damn good job at it.

Maybe it's because I was expecting the worst after reading some of the 'professional' reviews, but this was pretty decent. Not great, but better than average. I thought the main actor was a miss-cast. Most of the time his acting is ok, but at certain times when he was acting enraged or sad, it just felt off. It could also be due to the director's instructions, but it didn't look good. Which goes for the fight scenes as well, you could sometimes see an attacker go slowly in their offense to give time for the heroes to react to them. I know the fighting is fake, but I don't want to 'see' that it is. Story wise I thought this first season was solid. I didn't get bored with the villains or the storyline, and thought most of the actors did a pretty good job portraying it. It's obviously not as good as Daredevil, which no other Netflix Marvel series has been able to reach to be honest, but it certainly isn't as bad as Jessica Jones. So yeah, it's above average: a 7.

I think the subject matter weighs up the rating for this series, as opposed to the actual quality of the show. It's not bad since I kept watching, mostly to find out the reasons behind why these kids got sent the cassette tapes, but in the end I found myself wondering why most of them were even dragged into it or why they were so dramatic as to what was on the tapes. (not much for most) By the by, cassette tapes? Do children even know these things exist? I'm surprised that 1) they know what these things are, and 2) that they each apparantly had some sort of cassette player available to listen to the tapes. Or did they all borrow the walkman from hip latino guy in a leather coat who thinks cassettes 'sound better'? Which nobody who ever listened to cassettes would say. It's a tv show, so I can understand not everything has to make total sense. But that one bugged me a little. Anyway, the mystery surrounding the reasons why all these characters has a hand in the suicide of Hannah is the main pull of the show. However as mentioned, the mysteries fall flat for many of these kids. That you are left to wonder why they are so worried about the tapes going public. For one of the characters the reason is simply, you stopped being my friend...... Oh nooo, can't let that go public. We must stop the main character who keeps asking everybody what's on the tapes (as opposed to, oh I don't know, actually listen to the tapes yourself to find out) from making too much noise. Or people will find out. The humanity. That the girl who committed suicide sounds all happy and chipper on the tapes, which is at a time where she already decided to kill herself, surprises no one? At the end, after the "big reveal", she even makes it a sort of game to find out if the counselor would follow her out of the door. I actually thought he was the one who did what happened to her, because of the way the children acted towards him during the season after they heard the tapes. And then we find out he didn't really do much either to warrant the contempt, especially since she's the one who told him that she wouldn't press charges which basically tied his hands. If this was a CW show, I wouldn't have been surprised. Considering it's from Netflix and has high ratings, I was however expecting a much better production than what I just watched. Don't get your expectations high, and it's still an ok show though. With some questionable characterisations.

The 2nd season of Dark Matter is sadly not as good as the first one. It's still ok and I'll still check out the upcoming 3rd season, but my expectations will have lowered substantially compared to what I was expecting after the first season. The biggest problem I had was at the end where one of the characters basically does a complete u-turn out of the blue. That by itself was a surprise. But then he asks his subordinate to use "non-lethal force only" on the main characters......while he himself has no problem at all to bomb the bejeebies out of them. Because there was no guarentee at all that they could/couldn't escape fast enough. If next season he actually gets mad at his subordinate for what happened on the ship....that would just make no sense at all. You were going to bomb them! Hello.

I'm not really a fan of movie to tv series adaptions, it just feels like they are stretching the story of the original and filling it with things that really don't matter to make it last 15 episodes as opposed to the 2 hours it was based on. Lethal Weapon wasn't really popular for it's story merit though, it's more about the characters themselves. I honestly have no clear recollection as to what the stories in the movies were, they fought bad guys I guess. However I do remember Murtaugh and Riggs, and the family members, and Leo and honestly being moved by the ending of the last movie with the pictures collection of the cast & crew over the years. As it felt as a sad goodbye to never seeing these characters again. I guess that's why I kind of like this new adapation. As Lethal Weapon as a property can work very well on the little screen if done right. There is no grand storyline they need to fill stories around, the only thing they can fill it with is more character building. And that's the main attraction of Lethal Weapon to begin with in my opinion. And so far so good. The main characters are cast very well. I was unsure about Crawford, but he has sold me in the first episode where he did an amazing Riggs. The chemistry between him and Damon Wayans is off to a good start as well. I'll be sure to watch the coming episodes to see if they can keep this good form going. I'm glad I actually watched the show before forming my opinion on it.

I don't think Lucifer is a bad show, however after seeing the pilot this looks to become a run of the mill police procedural. There's nothing wrong with that, however there's nothing really special about it either apart from the catch being the guy helping the police is the king of Hell. Which makes about as much sense as it sounds. For the few people familiar with the Vertigo character this is based on, don't expect to see any fateful rendition. Lucifer the tv show is so different from the source material, that I wonder why they even bought the rights to the property. They could have done the same exact thing with a different name for the show, and nobody would have thought it's based on the Lucifer comic. The changes however aren't for the better (are they ever when directors think they know better than the original writers?) and instead we get a somewhat dumbed down version. Lucifer is now portrayed as a boy in a man's body, is British, wants to solve crimes, and has Jedi powers. Again, not necessarily a bad thing. However this is not Lucifer the show is supposedly based on. At least they are including the storyline where the angels try to get Lucifer back into Hell, which at the same time was the most interesting thing about the first episode in my opinion. I'll watch the following episodes to see where they will take the main storyline, however I can't help be dissapointed by the show as I was expecting something much better considering what this is based on.

I don't normally give a 10 score to anything I've seen, however I could not agree more with another review that this should be required viewing for any person really. As you watch this documentary you will be amazed how at first an innocent man is kept in jail for countless years for a crime he did not commit. In which the law enforcers, either by incompetence or downright corruption, keep this man in jail despite having credible signs he was not the culprit. Only to have your jaw fall off when after he has been cleared for the initial crime, the same people who covered up his innocence are the ones in charge of the investigation of the murder. Despite there being a huge conflict of interest, which even they themselves admit to when they publically dismiss themselves from the case, they not only remain on the case after they said they would not participate: they are also coincidently the ones who find the "proof" that the protaganist was guilty. The exact same people who were in danger of being found guilty of keeping said (innocent) man in jail in a previous case. The exact same people. This documentary is a very depressing look at the failure of the Wisconsin justice system; a failure to correct any neglicence/corruption in the system due to colleagues protecting their peers from seeing any consequence for their wrongdoings. And really a failure of humanity that a seemingly innocent man can not only be locked up once for a crime he did not commit, but twice in his life.

I started fast forwarding after the 2nd episode. It's not a bad show, but it's not really meant for me. The sci-fi aspect of Sense8 is what made me watch it. However despite it starting the series very much so with said premise, it mostly turns into a 'soap opera' afterwards making the actors' personal lives the main story. With the 'shocking' sex scenes (are sex scenes really shocking any more these days?) to go along with it. Mainly ignoring the most interesting thing about the series. Granted, I stopped watching after a couple of episodes. Maybe it delves moreso in the actual storyline later on. I just didn't want to go through so many imo unintersting hours, to be able to see a few actual interesting minutes. Because that's what happened when I watched the first few episodes of Sense8.

I normally don't bother with the official 'critics' review, and only look at the user created ones when looking for new series to try. And oh boy, the reason for this could not be more evident than it is for Dark Matter. This is a great new sci-fi series. I've just watched the season finale and can not wait for season 2 to come to see how the story continues with that cliffhanger. The fx are actually pretty good considering this is for tv, the action scenes even better, I personally had no problem with the acting. To be honest I thought the casting was pretty spot on, for the main cast and the people they go up against during the season. The biggest positive for Dark Matter is the writing though. You want to get to know who the characters are, as they themselves are trying to do the same after losing their memory. The 'mystery' of who they are, what actually happened to them, and who the possible traitor might be had me hooked throughout the 13 episodes. I was actually hoping that none of them were the traitor, because I was starting to like this group of characters.... If you like sci-fi, this series is definitely worth a try. As it's actually pretty darn good, far better than the average score the 'critics' are trying to make it appear. After watching the full season, I'm left wondering if they actually watched the same series I did.

It's practically unavoidable that this show doesn't get compared to BBC's earlier take on setting Sherlock Holmes in modern times, however I believe some of the reviews written here do it quite an injustice. If you believe this series to be worth a 0, then apparently you don't really know what bad is. Considering I like BBC's Sherlock, although I believe the 2nd season didn't quite live up to the first, it's not impossible for one to appreciate both renditions. Yes Watson is a woman. Yes, Sherlock makes mistakes. However it's these differences which makes me like the series. We get a stronger character as Watson as opposed to a 'lackey' of sorts. And a Sherlock Holmes who is not infallible, which makes for a far more likable character than other versions I've seen. The observation that Elementary is at it's core a police procedural is correct, however it's one that does it right. It's because Sherlock makes mistaken deductions, or ones that seem wrong but end up being right on the nose, a case is mostly not obvious from the get go. The twist and turns in most episodes makes me want to keep on watching despite it 'merely' being a police procedural.
