To be honest, until chapters 5 or 6, the game is pretty bad overall. The gameplay just doesn't work, especially the shooting - you can have a clean shot and still miss. Also, the story is all over the place. Eventually, you get upgrades for your run stamina, and the gameplay becomes somewhat playable. The story becomes interesting almost at the end, and there are many Easter eggs referencing Resident Evil. The one thing it does perfectly is the visuals and art direction, especially at the end of the game.

RE9 is, in my opinion, the most complete entry in the franchise - both in gameplay and story. I really liked the more mature storytelling and the integration of both characters' stories in parallel, moving away from the AB system.
