Battlefield: Bad Company10
Sep 21, 2014
The best Battlefield game for consoles, the best single player campaign in the series, alongside the addition of a new and entertaining game mode called Gold Rush, Bad Company is a must have.

NOTE: As of July 2014 the Gamespy servers were shut down forever. Use GameRanger to play online. I really tried to enjoy this game while playing it online but I couldn't. In theory it's a very good game, but in practice it was one of the most frustrating game I've ever played. One main problem is the overall balance, opposed to what BF1942 was about BF2 it's an unbalanced mess. The infantry gameplay is terrible, a lot of explosives spam, inaccurate and unbalanced weapons. The land vehicles combat is very good but it's ruined by the overpowered air vehicles. What it does well it's the teamwork aspect, with the introduction of the squad system, the commo-rose and the commander BF2 can offer a lot of good teamwork. Too bad the netcode and the hit registration are terrible (probably the worst in the FPS games). Funny thing is you can have a lot of fun while playing it on LAN.

Mixed feelings about this game. On one hand I was expecting more, it was supposed to be the "true BF2 successor", but it wasn't. On the other hand it's a game which gave me thousands of hours of entertainment, because it was pure fun. Different people will have different opinions about it, especially because it tries to gather different type of players, so it's very difficult to give a "balanced" review. It's a fun game once you start understanding the mechanics but don't expect it to be a "true successor". The only thing most people agree with is that the campaign was very bad. I really enjoyed it but at the same time it left me with a bad taste about games in general

Battlefield 3: End Game8

A good expansion which put an end to BF3 DLCs. Maps are a mix between all the previous expansions (CQ excluded), they tend to offer good vehicles combat kinda like B2K. CTF is good but too many Javelins and mines can be annoying. Air Superiority on the other hand **** (not much cover).

It's really interesting to see how different these maps play on two different games. They are still good maps but unfortunately they still have a major issue from their original version, they can be incredibly unbalanced (especially Gulf of Oman).

The maps in this expansion pack are the perfect example of how some Battlefield maps should be. Enormous with a lot of vehicles. If you want a true Battlefield experience you should try it.

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters7

It's a decent expansion pack, the maps are good and the game modes are decent (they could have been more and better though). If you want the exact opposite experience of a Battlefield game then you should try it.

If you want a good infantry experience this is the expansion pack for you. The maps aren't very open but you'll find quite a lot of flank routes which you can use.

NOTE: As of July 2014 the Gamespy servers were shut down forever. Use GameRanger to play online. I don't know what actually is, probably it's just nostalgia, but I can't think of any bad thing about this game. I enjoyed every single second I've spent on it and I'd recommend everyone to play it. It isn't the most perfect game out there but the whole package is just so excellent that I enjoy it a lot. The one thing it does best it's the overall balance, especially between all the different types of gameplay, which is something that has been missing in the other Battlefield titles for a long time now.

Generic free to play game with some Battlefield "magic" in it. The art style is nice, the gameplay is okay but as I've already said it's your usual "F2P - Pay to Win" game.

I'm not sure why anyone would play this over the original Battlefield 2. It's free but it's pay-to-win, the graphics are bad, they didn't even try to upgrade them (and I'd say it's actually worse than BF2) and the gameplay is terrible.

I was expecting a lot more. Reading a lot of the reviews (especially by the players) it seemed to be something that you can't miss. Well not really, it's really short (there are about 20 "missions" and 3/4 of them can be done in 2-3 hours) and most of the puzzles are easy (it gets a little bit more difficult near the end). The art style is very nice, but apart from that I don't see any reason to replay it. I guess the hype kinda killed it for me.

NOTE: As of July 2014 the Gamespy servers were shut down forever. Use GameRanger to play online. I really liked this game, it was the first Battlefield game which improved the infantry gameplay a lot alongside the customization. The vehicle gameplay is okay, the game is mainly focused around the infantry combat, so most maps are urban without much space for any heavy vehicle, not a big problem since there are the "walkers", big mechs which shred any infantry in sight. The new gamemode, Titan, is awesome and every BF player should play it. What killed the game for me was the lack of a solid player base and the horrible netcode and hit registration.

Best game ever made. The netcode is the best and the hit registration is perfect. The maps are all big and well designed. The classes are a lot and well balanced. The infantry gameplay require a lot of skill but it's very satisfying. There are also a lot of good mods. Definitely a must have!
