Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!7

Exceedingly simple, and yet somehow I can't stop playing. Though I wish they would add an anti-nausea mode. This is only the second ever game that's made me nauseated while playing. Had to fiddle with some of the settings to bear it.

Very short, not much to it, but VERY pretty, and intriguing world building.

Sometimes you just need a super chill game. Zero stress to this, just sit back, chat with your customers, read book blurbs, and solve some problems around town at your own pace.

Alba: a Wildlife Adventure8

It's cute. I wish it had a way to view the photos you took — the camera is really just a way to tag which animals you've seen, which is a shame. But the story is cute and the game itself is very pretty!

Strange Antiquities8

I feel odd about this one. I think, if I didn't love Strange Horticulture quite so much, I would have enjoyed this more, but I LOVED Strange Horticulture. I do like the idea of selling magical plants more than magical artifacts, so that's one thing. But the setup for Strange Antiquities just doesn't make as much sense? Like, you work in an occult antique shop, okay, that's fine. But in Strange Horticulture, when someone came into the shop and bought a plant, it made sense that I still had a copy of that plant in my shop. I gave them a cutting, or I had more growing in my garden out back, or whatever. In Strange Antiquities, someone buys a trinket, and I still wind up with a copy of that artifact in my shop, because...? It's never explained. Did I have multiple copies of the same artifact in stock, that all happen to look the alike? Even the ones that I found lying around in someone's attic or in a tomb? It doesn't make sense, and it bugged me, probably more than it should. I did like that there were multiple maps to explore and that there were puzzles and secrets inside your own shop, since you're an apprentice rather than the shop owner in this one. The overall plot was very good, of the same quality as in SH I would say. But, I didn't feel the need to immediately play it again and again like I did with Strange Horticulture, so take that as you will.

10/10 no notes. Love the atmosphere, love the puzzles, love the story, love that you can pet the cat.
