Resident Evil 2 (1998)10

Angel Studios did the impossible back in 1999 with this game. They ported a PlayStation game with fully animated cutscenes to the N64. It plays just like the PlayStation version but you have the option of changing the direction of the controls if you want which was different from the PS1 version. Plus, you can control the level of violence shown to a degree and change the color of the blood. Not to mention there were more files scattered throughout this version that filled in more of the story background. I played this game a couple of times years ago and completed it and could still fire it up today and enjoy it. PlayStation was, for the most part, considered the superior system but this game showed that if you had a developer with the savvy the N64 could be just as good.

Very ambitious game that can be incredibly fun with a very engaging story that is undone somewhat by some irritating glitches at times. Also, as wonderful as the premise is, the ending left me wondering what had happened, as if the rug had been pulled out from under me. At it's heart it is an escape room puzzle game, but it also has such wonderful and interesting characters that at times I didn't care because I was so thoroughly lost in its story. This is why the ending felt like a ****. I won't divulge what happens because it is so good throughout, but I couldn't decide whether this game was begging for a sequel or a rewrite. I will let you decide.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series10

Spectacular Star Wars experience on the PSVR. People are complaining about the length, but the game is amazingly fun and exciting with good character models and great set pieces. Lightsaber dueling has never been better or more fully realized. Fighting along side Darth Vader is a pretty unique experience and the story was well done. Also, Maya Rudolph as your sidekick droid dispensing snappy dialogue just makes everything that much better.

Separation10

Separation is akin to video games what 2001: A Space Odyssey is to movies. While some will try it and quickly decide it's slow and boring, others will find themselves lost in its beauty and desolation. It is perfect for VR in that it is more of a personal journey/experience with game elements. It has an amazing synth score and the wind swept sounds as you ascend high mountains, or float over them, are perfect. All along you are spurred along by a strange whispering that seems to follow you. Finally, it's topped off by an ending that is as haunting as it is ineffable.
