This was a really great series. Yes, there were some subtitles, but not enough to bother me. I loved the story. I loved the symbolism, the mirroring themes and the characters. I hope there is a second season. I'm shocked at some of the lower reviews. This show is worth a watch for anyone, but I'd recommend it for young adults who are searching for the hero within themselves and also for those who just like a good fantasy story.

Good Sam2

Jason Isaacs... what's not to love? His character, sadly. I don't mean it's so well acted that we hate the character, which is true, but I mean I just don't want to watch this character's road to humility as his daughter rises above him. There are too many other medical shows with great characters for me to spend time with this iteration. Too bad, because I do love Jason Isaacs in anything else.

The Cleaning Lady2
Jan 25, 2022
The first few shows were pretty good. But it's quickly gone down the "soapy" drain hole. I'm done. I gave two stars because it is very well acted. It's just that the scripts, the drama and character interactions are not very believable. It could have been good if it focused on just one thing, but this tries to throw every drama issue and trope in to it's first season.

I wasn't sure about this one until a few episodes in. But now, I love it and can't wait for season 2. Sure, it's a typical hospital show, but it's the characters that make it different. They have great stories. They are each struggling in their own way, but all come together to do a great job. I also enjoy the way they use flashbacks to further your understanding of Bashir's experience.

Tommy (2020): Season 12
Feb 9, 2020
I wanted to like it, but I just can't. Edie was wonderful, but someone give her a decent script to work with. It glossed over all the drama so it could introduce the premise... chauvinist mayor 'forced' to hire a woman to do the job of chief of police midst a corrupt and misogynistic police force and system. I just wanted a good cop drama. I got an "everything that's wrong with the system" and one woman is going to clean it up, even though she can't seem to clean up her relationship with her daughter. Edie is worth so much more than this. What a shame.

The Unicorn1

The first show was tolerable and even had some laughs. It just went down from there. His 'friends' are way too nosy and came off as being in the show just to be politically correct. He was way too naive and 'saintly', yet deeply flawed. Waste of my time.

Bob Hearts Abishola: Season 11

Started off amusing, maybe with even a laugh or two. By the third episode it was just embarrassing. I turned it off to save those poor actors from being seen.

The Kids Are Alright: Season 110
May 12, 2019
This show is funny and just slightly irreverent. As a Catholic, I was worried they'd be making jokes at our expense, but they don't. The religion that comes up is not preachy nor insulting. It's just a fun half hour with a working class family in the early 70s trying to make it as best they can, along with their very large brood of sons.

Kevin (Probably) Saves the World: Season 13
Nov 6, 2017
After the first 3 minutes, I thought this was really well written. We got so much information about the family and characters and their back stories in just a couple of scenes. But throughout the show it went from serious drama with a side of comedy to comedy with a side of light drama to sappy happy ending. This show needs to decide what it's going to be and then stick with it. If anyone can pull it off, it's Jason Ritter, but give him a good script to work with. Update: It's just not working for me. Right from the statement "find what the universe wants of you", as if the 'universe' is sentient. I get they didn't want to get religious, but the very nature of the show has religious connotations. So I'm done. I still gave it a 3, though, because, well, Jason Ritter.

Big Brother: Season 12
Sep 24, 2017
We've watched every season from the beginning. There have been some good seasons and some not so good seasons. This season (15), however is, hands down, the worst ever. It's turned me off the show completely. Big Brother is being banned from my PVR. If you'd asked me last May, I might have even given this show an 8 out of 10, but after this summer, the only reason it has a 2 instead of a 0 is because of the 14 previous seasons. The casting was just too horrendous this time around. I couldn't relate to any of the cast and the ones that I could root for were still not worth much.

Hands down, the BEST SEASON EVER!!! The funeral was pure genius and made this show the must watch of the season. I'm not usually a fan of vets coming in with newbies, but this show just kept you on your toes. The players worked hard.

The more I watch, the more I love it. John Lithgow is brilliant in this, as expected. I hope there's a season two. I also enjoy how they break down the fourth wall. It just adds to the show that they 'know' we are watching.

Speechless (2016): Season 110

This is laugh out loud funny. It's quirky, but the family is lovable. Minnie Driver is her wonderful self in this show. It's this year's Goldberg's or Fresh off the Boat for sure.

Superstore: Season 11
Jan 9, 2016
I wanted to like this show, but I couldn't. I gave it a 1, because each of the two episodes I watched had exactly 1 joke I laughed at. In fact, there were times in the show where I actually looked away, as if I was embarrassed for the actors. It was stupid comedy. It wants to be a statement on our politically correct society, but it's not. The characters are not even likable, much less lovable. They are tolerable. I'm shocked the critics have given it these high marks. I suspect a few of them received really nice Christmas, sorry Holiday gifts from the producers.

Dr. Ken: Season 15
Oct 4, 2015
I wanted so badly to love this show. He was great as Chang. But he's still trying to be Chang. Chang was never a main character but comic relief at best. You can't have a show around just Chang. Maybe he was trying to be Don Rickles or **** Van Dyke, but even they had more empathy and more story in their show. There were some amusing jokes, but most all cliches and sarcasm. His character was just bitter and nasty, not funny. Maybe it'll get better. I don't know, but something has to change. I had such hopes for a show like this. Oh well.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season 110

I just read over my first review after the first show. I was wrong. This has turned out to be a great show. I love the characters, especially Boyle. It's just light-hearted comedy and fun. This is a winner for me.

The Odd Couple (2015): Season 16
Feb 23, 2015
Was that a laugh track? It didn't make the show funnier. That said, there were some funny lines. Overall, Matthew Perry is no Jack Klugman. This was the worst of his comedies yet. I hope the two can get some better timing and more genuine acting, but if not, I'm outta there.

Scorpion: Season 110
Sep 23, 2014
Awesome. We totally loved it. Lots of action, and a nice bunch of characters that each have their challenges. No one of them is the infallible hero type. They are heroes because they use their talents to help others. Anyway why can't a 'bunch of nerds' be the leads in a show, it worked for Big Bang Theory.

Star-Crossed: Season 110

A modern take on Romeo and Juliet. Also a great way to explore prejudice. This show has much more potential than just another teen romance show. Oh, it will probably be that, but it's got so much more going for it. It's definitely not a remake of Roswell.

The Assets: Season 16
Jan 29, 2014
The night I taped this pilot we had a power outage, so I had to search up the episode on the network website. It was okay. The story is interesting, but the actors are boring. It did remind me, however, that I'm glad the 80s, with their shoulder pads, punk rock styles and perms are over, so A+ for costuming. So much of the show seemed to be in dark light. It was almost as if they had found an old copy of a film from the 80s, but forgot to restore it for HD TV. I will say this, though. I will be buying the book. This is about an important part of American history and having a chance to understand it from the viewpoint of the people who were there is worth the price of a book.

Chuck wannabe. Why does this super soldier need a babysitter? And why shouldn't they expect him to look for his wife? What kind of husband wouldn't? Chuck was much better.

The Tomorrow People: Season 110
Oct 9, 2013
As a child, I watched the original show and loved it. I know now that it was campy, but the ideas and the characters always stuck with me. This evolution of the Tomorrow People has kept the best of the original British series and brought it into the 21st century. I'm excited to see how this Jedikiah story is resolved. Will he be the ongoing villain or will he be resolved in 8 episodes like the original alien Jedikiah? I like the idea of a 'double agent' for the good guys, and the suggestion that Stephen may not have chosen his side just yet is intriguing. I hope his dad's not dead, but I doubt we'll see him any time this season, since that would change the dynamic of the group.

Sleepy Hollow: Season 15
Sep 27, 2013
Really interesting premise, but I'm worried it's going to be a supernatural soap. Going right to thwarting the apocalypse doesn't leave a whole lot of room for growth. I enjoy it now, but if it goes on a winter hiatus, I might lose my interest, like I have with so many other soapy shows.

The Goldbergs: Season 18
Sep 27, 2013
This is more of a Wonder Years then an updated 70s show or even Happy Days. There's too much over the top caricature, without any of the charm of those other classic shows.
