Tonally, M.F.A is sometimes jarring, as these outrageous, fantastical killings are motivated by authentic, grounded emotions. But at the center, Eastwood is absolutely riveting, inhabiting a true violent vigilante worth rooting for.

Natalia Leite's ambition and accompanying uncertainty give the film its unruly and resonant energy.

As admirable as its aims may be, however, M.F.A.’s themes call for a careful, consistent tone that it is rarely able to maintain, and an increasingly ridiculous third act squanders much of the empathy and engagement that Leite works so hard to build in the early going.

Interesting but at some points the perspective gets lost and with films that has this sort of thematic if you lose sight of whatever you're trying to say it falls on deaf ears. At least it's disturbing enough to open the conversation about the themes it deals with.
