There are certainly deeper issues simmering below the deceptively lightweight film's surface, but its full impact will most likely be lost on non-Filipino audiences.

Billed as a "satirical comedy about the American dream," La Visa Loca doesn't have anything to say about that eternal subject and is excruciatingly unfunny.
