Harsh times and heartbreak abound in the Russo brothers’ gritty addiction epic Cherry, but there’s poetry in the language of the script and in certain moments of wonder and hope, of dark comedy, of love and redemption.

Cherry is a small-scale tragedy, one repeated over and over again in broad sweeps, but still specific to this one instance. The issue is that, when the audience knows the inevitable path, there are limited opportunities for surprises – especially since the Russos set the entire story as a flashback.

"Cherry" is an absolute must-see, an explosive cinematic experience that brilliantly captures the stark and often grim realities of daily life. The film strikes a remarkable balance between moments of laughter and a lingering darkness that weighs heavily on the heart, particularly for those who have been touched by the struggles of substance abuse and the profound effects of severe PTSD. I cannot praise Tom Holland and Ciara Bravo enough—both are exceptionally talented actors who bring depth and authenticity to their roles. As a dedicated fan of Holland, I'm continually impressed by his meteoric rise in Hollywood, solidifying his status as one of the most gifted actors of his generation. Kudos to the Russo brothers for crafting yet another cinematic gem; this film truly showcases their masterful storytelling!

Amazing movie, show the true and all the problem and Tom Holland is an amazing actor, like ten movies in one. I loved

This would be tough material for anyone to tackle, and the Russos take aesthetic chances that — while admirably bold — flop more often than they fly.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo of “Avengers: Endgame” fame, the well-worn drama gets high marks for style and proficiency, but you don’t have to be Nostradamus to know exactly where it’s going every step of the way. At the movies, stories like this one are a dime bag a dozen.

The movie is so overbearingly high on its own fizzy, clever stylishness that it strands the heart of its own story.

There’s hardly a moment in Cherry that’s believable, but the film’s true crime is that there’s hardly a moment in it that’s enjoyable either. The only emotion the movie conveys is being full of itself.

Tom Holland, I appreciate your efforts, but man the Russo's did you dirty with their music video directing.

Your roots are showing. That's the biggest problem I have with this movie. I didn't mind the story, I didn't mind the acting, it was shot well (I even dug some of the dreamier elements), but it tries to rip-off too many better films. First and most importantly, Jarhead. Not sure what this movie is trying to bring to the table. It seems like it's a love story, "love conquers all," but it apparently doesn't. At least not in the case of addiction.

The movie is really bad, it just doesn't work, the editing, the pacing, too many ideas that didn't gel to create a solid plot. An absolute waste of Tom Holland's time, and your time.
Russo bros have totally lost their touch. Can see why Apple picked this up instead of your usual Hollywood studio.

This film is the Russos trying to prove that they can get into "artsy" mode. Style over substance makes 'Cherry' a mediocre effort. And what about that cast? Tom Holland tries very hard, but it's hard to take them all very seriously, especially when they want us to believe that they are 40 in the end. All in all, a very forgettable film. I think I enjoyed more 'Pups,' that film about the kid with the happy face shirt that robs a bank.
