Toxic Grind

A solid if shallow BMX racer that actually uses a story as an impetus for pulling off tricks. [Jan 2003, p.70]

Its tough levels should keep you busy for awhile, and the story, while corny, is it at least a reason to play the single-player mode.

I hope THQ will some day not only come up with a great story line but an extreme sports game that offers great game-play as well.

The idea of having cannons and other things to deliberately impede your progress is an interesting idea, but the implementation still needs work.

All the elements of this game add up to a game that should be rented not bought, bottom line.

While Toxic Grind has the standard complement of features you'd expect from an action sports game and mixes things up by including a clever back story, the actual gameplay ruins anything else the game has to offer.

We're pretty sure that in the very near future, we'll be using Toxic Grind to torture terrorists into revealing their most closely guarded secrets. Such is the game's badness. [Winter 2002, p.106]
