Megaquarium
Interesting twist on a theme park management tycoon, with really good gameplay basics, but it lacks uniqueness and overall polish, especially in graphics department.

Megaquarium is a shallow strategy game for casual players. While the fish float, the game slowly falls into stereotype. [Issue#291]
While Megaquarium is fun and challenging at times, it tends to become a little repetitive after a while. A few more different challenges would help, while at other points it would have been nice to see an overview panel to make it easier to organise things. The gameplay can easily get messy, which is a shame considering the idea and the colourful setup. Nevertheless, the game is enjoyable and relaxing, and a player may well find themselves playing for hours.

Got the game because I can't get real fish, so a digital one would be nice, and it turned out to be very nice indeed.

Bought it on the Switch, spent about 30$ Canadian and you literally can't pass the first tutorial. One of the objectives requires you to press the r button to take you back home in case you go off screen but the input doesn't work. I've tried using other controllers, redownloading the game, but nothing worked. I'm disappointed that I spent a decent amount of money for a game that could have been double checked by the dev's before they put it for sale.

Bought this a week ago and have put over 100 hours in just doing the campaign on normal. Could have done it faster but was enjoying the ride. Now looking forward to playing it on harder difficulties and in free build mode. I play a lot of PC games and this is close to my game of the year. Definitely worth the price of admission and a recommended pick up. I hope they do an expansion.

A charming watery theme park management game where fish are friends, not food. Until they eat each other or you forget to feed them.

As a tycoon game, Megaquarium strikes a very nice balance between having too much complexity vs. not having enough depth to remain entertaining. While micromanagement is not required, you do still have a lot of decision making to do. Fortunately, no in-depth knowledge of fish is required.

Altogether, Twice Circled has crafted a decent tycoon game that is fun and relaxing, if not a little unimaginative. It won’t thrill or challenge you like Planet Coaster but you’ll find yourself mesmerized by the simple joy of it. It feels like owning a hobby tank of fish…and people. It’s not a bad combination. If you enjoy tycoon games it’s worth picking up. Sit back, relax, and try not to think about eating seafood.

The Overpowered Noobs
There are plenty of fish, yes, but there are also too many menus, along with repetitive music and odd sound effects. Twice Circled has some upward swimming to do to reach the surface of the title’s potential.

10/10, a masterpiece. I love it. It's like zoo tycoon but with fishes. I love this game. Brilliant.

I had high hopes for this game as I played bigpharma and I am an avid fish keeper and I must say I was not disappointed! It has about 100 different choices of fish and other sea creatures that you must build homes for and set up their filtration and types of food they need. Building your aquarium was incredibly simple and fun, the controls and camera movement while building was very intuitive and I wish other tycoon games were this easy to navigate and build as this is is. Campaign mode is fun but sandbox really lets your imagination run wild and you can really build a decent sized aquarium, especially if you want to have every creature in the game. My only gripes about the game were taken care of in a recent patch so honestly, the only thing I would like to see are more types of animals, especially freshwater species! I highly recommend this game for people who enjoy tycoon type games and even for those who enjoy Fishkeeping.

SummaryA theme park management tycoon game with an aquatic twist. Design your displays, look after your fish, manage your staff and keep your guests happy. It's all in a day's work as the curator of your very own Megaquarium.
