GRIME II
In a crowded genre like Metroidvania, it’s no easy feat to carve out a unique identity without imitating others and to stay true to it. Grime II does a fantastic job in that regard, delivering an experience that’s immensely fun to play and wonderfully bizarre.
Grime 2 confidently treads familiar metroidvania ground, embracing tried-and-true mechanics. While it doesn’t introduce anything particularly groundbreaking, fans of the genre will appreciate its deep combat system and challenging platforming sections, all supported by responsive and smooth controls. The entire experience is elevated by the imagination behind its vibrant world.
GRIME II is an excellent metroidvania/soulslike that builds on everything the original did well, delivering brutal, precise combat, well-designed bosses, and a striking aesthetic. It’s a great fit for fans of the genre who enjoy a challenge, mastering mechanics, and carefully exploring every corner of the map.

This metroidvania is great with a huge variety of enemies , great fun challenging multi phase bosses and fun upgrade systems to use , it took me 18 hours to finish this one which means it's long

This game does not respect player time at all. Endless retracking without the fast travelling option is the worst desing in these type of games. No wonder the playtime is bloated as anytime you die you have to go miles back. Rinse and repeat. Shame as otherwise this could be a decent game.

Grime II is a phenomenal video game. Every aspect of it is a huge improvement over the original. If you have some patience and love a good Metroidvania, Grime II is the best one I have played since the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. I cannot recommend it enough.

This game is absolutely INSAAAANE!!! I already loved the first one, but I think the sequel is even better. I’ve never seen such a huge amount of content in a metroidvania, but at the same time the map is gigantic. The environments are gorgeous, the difficulty feels perfectly balanced to me, the movement is smooth, and the soundtrack is excellent. The lore is really cool too. Honestly, huge respect, amazing game.

Game slaps so hard, difficulty on point. Challenging just enough to not frustrate

GRIME 2 is a direct improvement to all aspects of its predecessor and doubles down on what makes it great in the first place. Featuring a unique aesthetic, deep combat systems, and textbook Metroidvania exploration, this is a title worth playing for fans of the genre.

GRIME II from developer Clover Bite and publisher Kwalee is a massive Metroidvania that is driven by its creativity and storytelling, backed up by amazing visuals and soundtrack, and does everything on the gameplay side that you would expect from the genre it lives within. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s worthy of your time.

Grime 2 has all the makings of a great metroidvania that overshadows the issues that make it frustrating. The world is beautiful, and the basic combat loop is a ton of fun. It can get obnoxious when fighting multiple enemies, and I wasn't a fan of navigation, but exploration feels rewarding with a solid progression system.

GRIME II is bursting with imagination, from its surreal world to its flexible combat systems, but it rarely gives those ideas proper time to develop. The result is a visually striking metroidvania that is as frustrating as it is visually creative.

I came with high expectations, and I left disappointed: Grime II is not a bad game or, God forbid, bad, but it does have quite a few problems that, for me at least, were quite difficult to digest. There are some good decisions here, including a combat system that feels more fluid even when it's actually quite slow, a storyline that might enchant you, and exploration areas that are designed correctly as long as it doesn't involve Fast Travel. So is this a game I can recommend? Basically, yes, if you like the style and the fact that this is an Israeli game, I totally see a reason to invest your time and money in it, just know in advance that there are quite a few problems here, and that it's not exactly the standard of quality you expect.

If you’re looking for a game that perfectly balances the "soul" of a Soulslike with the heart of a Metroidvania, Grime II is a masterpiece of surrealist action. It’s rare to find a sequel that doesn’t just add more content, but fundamentally evolves how you interact with the world.

Grime 2 is a remarkable sequel! beautifully crafted, deeply engaging, and immensely satisfying to play. It builds on everything that made the original great and elevates it even higher.

WOW! What a journey, one of the better Metroidvania experiences recently. Gave me some of those Hollow Knight/Ori WOTW vibes, with great, solid combat and a wonderful platforming and movement accompanying it. The team has done it once again and improved over the first game, which is another example of why indie games are the best.
