Figment has that spark that hooks you at the beginning. Its scenarios, full of vibrant colors and surreal shapes, give you the feeling of exploring something unique, as if you've snuck into a corner of the human mind. But that first impression doesn't last forever. Gameplay is where the problems start. The puzzles and combat do their job, but nothing more. Everything feels too familiar, as if you've seen it before, and they quickly become repetitive. And the performance on Switch? That's another obstacle. When such a beautiful game starts to run slowly or makes you wait too long between areas, it's hard to maintain enthusiasm. Figment has heart, no one can deny that, but it fails to deliver on everything it promises. If games with a lot of visual style are your thing, you might enjoy exploring this world. Just keep in mind that what you see at the beginning is pretty much what you'll get until the end.

Really enjoyed this one, although I had to give it some time to settle in at the beginning. In the end I was pleasantly surprised with the storyline that was brought. I highly recommend this game.

Jogo excelente!

Figment is an incredible little indie game, it was one of the first games that got me into playing indie games And to this day it’s still one of my favorite games of all time. One of the best aspects of the game is the soundtrack, this soundtrack was the one that got me to look at video game music, and just music in general, in a different way. this soundtrack made me realize that music wasn’t just something to put up in the car, it can be something beautiful, it can be something that brings out emotions complimenting the incredible stories in figment and other games and movies. Speaking of the story, it’s simple yet effective, it gets you invested in the characters and it. Long story short, figment is a game I couldn’t recommend more to anyone.

I'm sure it was a lot of fun to make all the Rube Goldberg things in this game as well as the puzzles, but I don't find it that much fun to play. Towards the start, I thought it would be more fun to play this with a kid, as there's lots of running back and forth and back and forth, but then the game gets more challenging, but the tedium doesn't relent. There was one segment where I just couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do, and had to look up a guide, and that was annoying. I regret buying it even though I got it on sale.

figment is a pretty good game when it comes to music, design, concept and puzzles. unfortunately, it lacks in combat and its story is very short and simple. although, it is a great experience for a low cost.

Simple and fun gameplay. Picture book art style with child like voice acting but tone and language isn’t as child friendly as it appears but nothing too sinister. A great bite sized games to pickup and play on the go. Looking forward to the next one.

Following a traumatic event nightmarish creatures begin to take over the mind of an unknown victim, and it is up to Dusty and Piper to try to restore peace. Figment combines solid (if unremarkable) combat and platforming with puzzles that offer a challenge without ever become to obtuse. Alongside a fairly interesting, and well told, story the end result is a decent little game that offers good value for it’s relatively low price.

A small genre game with distinctive style and clever idea, the main gameplay is a puzzle adventure with simple combat mechanics. I think the stage design of the first boss city and the boss battle are the best. It combines puzzle solving with simple combat elements ingenuously. The stage design of the last boss city is a bit disgusting. I don't know why it seems when designing the stages with the box, the puzzle gameplay will lose its "spirituality" and look "bloated", and there are some bugs in the design, but fortunately I found a blunt and ugly way to pass it. the final boss battle reminds me of The design of the second boss battle of “Metroid: Survival” , of course, its boss is not so "perverted" (meaning the attack form is variable, the difficulty is stepped up, and the fault tolerance rate is low), but its combat system can't keep up with... It causes a little bit clumsy, and it's a pity that it didn't design puzzle solving, which lost the unique fun of puzzle games. In short, the final boss battle was a bit suffocating, and there was no satisfaction after defeating the enemy. (An afternoon to clear the game. The screen of this game seems to have certain requirements for GPU, playing with the switch will heat up and drop frames...

The art is good, the gameplay is engaging, and the puzzles are good. Had some issues with glitches and lagging. I think I would have been happier with this game if it were a touch shorter, because I got bored with it several times before finishing it. I also ended up using walkthroughs more than I would have liked. The voice acting and music were good, and the game does look good. The story was definitely interesting, well developed, and emotional.

Great story. Beautiful graphic and fun music. The only problem I have with this game is the control. It's quiet frustrating and that kind of ruined my gaming experience. I wouldn't buy this game in full price. Got it when it was on sales but still not quite sure if I like it that much.

Figment is a interesting puzzle game with some really impressive music. I really cannot emphasise how much the music adds to the quality of this game. There is an overarching story about memory, loss, and facing your fears and nightmares, which is thematic. You need to travel through the left and the right parts of the brain, which are represented as creative and logical, giving different sorts of puzzles to be solved, and music to be experienced. I encountered one glitch at the very end of the game, which required me to restart a level– however, it was only a few minutes to solve the puzzles and get back to where I was. I bought this title on deep discount, and for less than five dollars the six or seven hours of entertainment that I got from it was highly worthwhile. I am not sure that it is worth the full price, at least in comparison to some other indie games, but it regularly goes on sale. I recommend this game.

This game is really underrated. It is fantastic. The art is amazing, the puzzles are fairly difficult and the combat is ok, considering it is not this game's focus. Despite its childish appearence, it is a really good choice for adults. I truly recomend it.

Nice game, with nice music and for the most part strong voice acting considering the voice actors presumably don't speak English as their first language. It's an interesting premise but I thought it could have been done better, it comes across a tiny bit cringey in places. Similarly the game presents itself more like a children's adventure puzzle platformer, but then throws swearing and adult themes which left me slightly confused as to who exactly the target demographic for this game was intended to be. There are some very annoying frame rate issues that really need addressing, which come later in the game. They spoiled the gameplay towards the end when the difficulty ramps up slightly. Most of the difficulty for me came from the unpredictable frame rate. That said I enjoyed my time playing this game and for £1.97 on sale I certainly feel like I got my money's worth.

I had this in my PS4 watchlist forever and then my Switch and I thought it's on sale, it'll be great, give it a whirl and see what the craic is. Damn boring is what it is. It was instantly dislikeable. It felt like a complete mismatch of everything, like nothing went together at all. I love music and this games music got raved about.. it was a bit crap, the art style was lame, the whole scenario was lame, I just hated it and deleted it and glad to say I got it in the sale. I just bought Kamiko about a week before this and for the same price range, Kamiko smashed Figment

Truly beautiful for a short game. The music is just outstanding and the art is great. Very fun to play and I enjoyed the creativity of having each boss sing their song. The puzzles were nice and the levels well designed. The levels that go with the story are also well represented. For example having the memory puzzles or logic puzzles in the right level. All in all, a great experience

The audiovisual experience is this game’s strongest point. The puzzles, platforming, and boss fights are nothing special, but it’s a short game, so just get it on sale and you won’t regret it.

A quirky action/adventure with engaging puzzle elements. Art style is filled with humor and surrealism. The original songs and music were fun and contributed a lot to the atmosphere. At times, the voice acting falls flat, and in certain parts, the sound editing made for some weird overlaps. I found the story to be a tad predictable, so the emotional payoff wasn't as impactful as I imagine the developers would have liked it to be.

The history is great. Graphics and music are wonderful. The level design is perfect. However, on the other hand, The loading screens betweens areas are incomprehensibly long considering the graphics and the power of the console. Controls are a bit rought. During the game I found a few important bugs and a log out. The duration of the game is neither a strong point, it's about seven hours. I bought on sale for 10 euros, I won't never buy it for 20 euros.

Wow, the user score on here for this game is ridiculous! For me it was a really fun, charming and interesting experience. + the music is amazing and outstanding; things in your surrounding become part of the music when you get closer to them and even the bosses chant while fighting you (it has a musical vibe to it) + the art style is pretty (reminds me of the graphic novels by Shaun Tan) and surreal + there is full voice acting (even when you knock on doors of houses - and there are many- someone answers) - and the voice acting is great (though over-the-top comparable to children's films) + the story -though not outstanding- has the right pace to accompany you on your journey and has a great overall (philosophic/psychological) tone to it + the puzzles are rather fun (though not mindblowingly creative) + it had a nice difficulty and the learning curve to me was well-balanced; it wasn't too challenging so that you could enjoy it and didn't get stuck for too long; at the same time boss fights and some puzzles were challenging enough to be rewarding + the game had a great sense of progress + it was about 5-7 hours long, which felt perfect for me; it didn't overstay its welcome nor did it finish too abruptly - it is English, but with subtitles (which is no problem for me, but should be mentioned) - the German subtitles sometimes were missing and only "Err: 501" or something appeared while clearly more text was sung (if you speak English, if it gets patched or if it doesn't occur in your language, this problem is harmless of course) - I wish there was a way to listen to the music/songs via the games menu after having beaten it; since the developers clearly put a lot of effort into them

Figment opens with some voiceover while the credits roll; a little girl is talking about parachuting and telling her dad he isn't brave in his job of real estate since he doesn't parachute. The dad is a bit despondent, seeming like he's either lost in thought or is tired of where he is in life. It's at this point that a fairly large event takes place, and we are thrown into the mind of a character where everything is manifested in a surreal manner. The player takes control of Dusty, the embodiment of courage, although he's been more or less retired for some time having faced all the fears within the mind. However, things are starting to get a bit wonky, and although he has no desire to help, one of the nightmares took his scrapbook and he needs it back, so he reluctantly heads off to collect it. When you think of the music or voice acting in a game, it will typically either stand out because it's bad, or you won't notice it because it's good. Very rarely do you notice it, but also acknowledge it's exemplary. That may very well be the case when you play this. It's strange, honestly, as the bosses will each sing their own songs as you face them. It's almost like a Disney movie, and it's campy while also undeniably fun and amusing. Is it necessary? Not at all, but having experienced it, I can't imagine it being any other way now. The regular voice acting itself is pretty well executed, although admittedly I thought the first nightmare you face was attempting to be from New Orleans like Tommy Wiseau, and the second one you come across was certainly channeling Earl of Lemongrab a bit. One of the coolest parts is that the levels are littered with different instruments in the environment, and the music you hear will reflect this - the sound design for this game is top notch. The game plays in the form of an isometric action adventure game, with its fair share of puzzles. Having such a distinct focus on music, I kept getting vibes of Bastion and Transistor, especially with the beautiful hand drawn world. Gameplay itself is pretty basic, with a roll/dodge, attack, and action button. While combat is present, it's far from the main focus in this. It feels like it was added to say the game is more than an adventure game full of puzzles to solve (remisncent of Hellblade), although it is a welcome change from monotony. Perhaps where it shines most is when the combat itself is not necessary, as the enemies affect the world around you for additional puzzle solving. The puzzles are surprisingly more challenging than I thought they would be, albeit never so difficult that it resulted in looking up solutions. Often times it just meant exploring elsewhere or coming back with a fresh mind. Perhaps the worst part of the game is something that can be avoided once you learn the importance of the game's design early on. If an item can be interacted with, it'll have a little sparkle that shows up. If part of a puzzle is a one-off thing and it's still shining, you want to take the item with you to avoid backtracking. Near the beginning I had to go back and forth a few times, which was a bit grating merely because I was not thinking I'd need to reuse puzzle pieces elsewhere. Also, at a glance, you may think this is a game for kids. The added songs with dancing may reinforce that notion. Rest assured, this is a game for older audiences. That's not to say that kids won't be able to enjoy it, but its rated teen for a reason, and I was honestly taken aback by some of the dialogue - it was very unexpected, but also made me laugh quite a bit. There are a number of games these days that delve into deep emotions that are difficult for many to deal with, and this is another that does so well. Dealing with the likes of depression, it's an eclectic take on the mind a la Inside Out from Pixar, although with a bit more craziness. Figment's themes will resonate with people unexpectedly, and it's that emotional level that will make this memorable for many. Even if it's not something someone has truly experienced, it will give insight into the lives of others and perhaps help with empathy. There's something to be said about a medium that chooses to explore something more than simply killing the bad guys. Going deeper into the struggles of everyday life and exploring those demons in a manifested fantasy world can be extremely powerful. Regardless of the reason for wanting to play Figment, be it the beautiful environments, the promise of wonderful music, or the deeper than normal meaning behind it all, you won't be disappointed.
