There is really nothing wrong with the GBA rendition of the popular TV show but really nothing that jumps at you and screams "buy me" either.

A game that shouln't have been as bad as it is. If you take away the frustration and boredom, this game might have worked.

Whether you compete with your friends or play by yourself, you must watch all five of your rivals take turns, which accounts for a lot of downtime. [Jan 2005, p.139]

It's kind of weird that we live in a world where there's a Fear Factor game out there but here we are. It's not a very good game unfortunately. The events are cool looking sure but the gameplay leaves more to be desired. Some mini games are actually kind of fun like the one where you escape the rails of a train. That requires a little bit of focus but nearly all of the mini games are just tedious and repetitive. You also have to beat these not good mini games like about 3 to 5 times each which doesn't sound too terrible when you read it but imagine playing the same awful mini games that many times each. The music is fine. There is an announcer but the guy that recorded those lines was clearly just phoning it in for a quick payday. I don't blame him though. This game is very poorly made but I get the vision of making a Fear Factor game but the execution is very unsatisfactory. Pretty much avoid this game.

Bro, guys, fam, brochachos, brochities, this is just a GBA game, nah-mean? Stahp bein so critical! Look, this game, is nearly a perfect rendition of Fear Factor (c) irl! Did you see the train game? or the part where you die alot? come on gang! this is high quality entertainment for like 2 hours tops! Its totally worth the buy, (which i definitely definitely did) and would be even better with some online play? Ill contact the makers of this GREAT game, and ask when that could get patched in. Youre all welcome, im doing this for free, and NOT for $50,000.

It seems that everything was done in generic terms: the graphics are blurry and nondescript, and the music and sound effects were also generic. The cut scenes are from the show, which is pretty mindless on its own.

If you play Fear Factor: Unleashed, you deserve to find forgiveness in the heart of no man. [Feb 2005, p.125]

A franchise marketing attempt gone bad. I played most of what the game had to offer in about 40 minutes, and when I finally sat down to beat the game, I was rewarded with an extra feature. Yes, that's right, this extra feature was an added difficulty level. Whoopee.

This is, perhaps, the worst game I've ever played for any Nintendo console. I can't believe someone managed to get it published.

Can I describe Fear Factor: Unleashed in one simple word? Sure I can: crap.
