**Despelote** is an indie game with a semi-interesting concept and graphics, but it had so much potential to be better. This game isn’t made for a general audience—it’s for a niche group who enjoy complex football gameplay paired with a very shallow **** game tells the story of a young girl living in 2000, close to the World Cup, whose national team, Pero, faces tough matches against top football countries like Argentina. The girl dreams of becoming a football player but grows up in an environment where the other kids mock her simply for being a girl who wants to play football. The story itself is engaging and has a cool idea, but translating it into an indie game ruined much of its potential. The dialogues are cute at times but often boring, and some of the static, superficial cutscenes make the experience even more **** the game had English voice acting and improved its environmental graphics, football gameplay, and first-person camera, it could have told this story in the best possible way :(

Despelote is a good game, i enjoyed experiencing the life of julian growing up. the story is cool and the gameplay is simple, and i really liked the art style. the only thing holding it up for me is that it's too short and was a bit expensive for it's actual value, more like a 5$ game at most, and felt repetitive most of the time. but looking back it's still a once in life experience, not generational or great, but still.. i recommend trying it.

Very original, yet very well executed. The memories perfectly transcribed make for an incredible experience. It resonates with your childhood; you feel nostalgic even without being Ecuadorian or a football fan. Soundtrack and visuals are amazing and it blends smoothly

Even free even watch it on utube not worth it sorry, how got positive reviews ???? - 1:30 hour boring long (30 minutes stretch to 1.30) -very expensive very short very very repetitive sluggish boring walking simulator wait to something to happen with kick balls not a game, bad dialog, poor uninteresting story and awful unjustified ending. -only good graphics.

Man the first little bit of this game kicking the ball around is great and the soccer game is fun but that's about it. The story is...fine. There are worse but this game needed the gameplay to hold this up and it did not succeed in that.

This game hits hard. I barely know anything about Ecuador or soccer. But everything about this demo is so natural, intimate, nostalgic, well-directed and perfectly paced. It makes you feel like you are playing through a Paolo Sorrentino's film. The best one. You won't regret giving it a try if you are into narrative adventures. Just incredible.

Sin ser muy futbolero a mi me ha gustado este juego de fútbol, bueno más bien es una aventura narrativa sobre el fútbol, y como los habitantes de Ecuador vivieron la clasificación al mundial de 2001, despelote con una jugabilidad única, unas físicas más que curradas, y un diseño artístico muy muy original se posiciona para mí como uno de los indies más importantes del año. Dura lo que tiene que durar (unas 2 horas), y está a muy bajo precio, más que recomendado.

Really good concept. It tried to make a unique and innovative way of storytelling in an already familiar format but the game fell short on gluing the story and gameplay together till the end.

This is the weirdest game I've ever played. Absolutely nothing like I expected. I also can't stop thinking about it. It's like getting to experience someone else's memories, but they feel like your own. I kind of want to live there? I want more games like this, immediately.
