A bland remake that wastes its source material. The acting is stiff and unconvincing, with Mason Thames’ Hiccup and most of the cast delivering flat performances that lack the originals’ heart and humour. Worse is the immersion-breaking “diversity” casting. Prominent Black Vikings in a 10th-century Scandinavian setting feel like lazy Hollywood checkboxes, not storytelling.Dragons look decent, but the rest is forgettable. Stick with the animated trilogy.
