Extremely unintuitive game that does its best to confuse you and force you to figure out everything for yourself. While it may sound intriguing, I mostly found it just annoying

Couch-Coop Breakdown
A classic 3D Metroidvania game available for split screen.
The game truly shines in its replayability and sense of progression. You're constantly unlocking new items and upgrades that open up previously inaccessible areas, creating a compelling loop that keeps both players motivated to revisit earlier locations. There's genuine satisfaction in returning to a familiar zone with new tools and finally reaching that out-of-reach area you spotted hours ago. The fast travel system is the co-op experience's biggest weakness. Every time one player fast travels, it interrupts the entire screen and forcibly snaps the other player out of whatever they're doing. This breaks the flow of exploration and can be genuinely frustrating when you're in the middle of something important. The game also limits you to vertical screen splitting only, which may not suit everyone's preference, though this is a relatively minor inconvenience. Navigation can be challenging at times, but it never becomes a major roadblock—just expect to occasionally backtrack or consult your map more than usual. The narrative won't blow you away, but it's serviceable enough to give context to your planetary exploration without getting in the way of the fun. The sequence of types of quest might get repetitive when exploring new planets. Despite its co-op quirks, Journey to the Savage Planet delivers a solid split-screen adventure with enough progression hooks and exploration incentives to keep you and your partner engaged throughout your journey.
