It's far from perfect but this is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I actually enjoyed the combat system more than Witcher 2, especially on Hard difficulty. The voice acting and story are mostly excellent. As with the entire series, you are forced to make some difficult choices that have real repercussions. Atmosphere is phenomenal. My main criticism isn't the combat, but the amount of backtracking. If you want to complete every quest, it's quite a lot of walking back and forth. Don't wait for the remake, at least not until we have a release window. This game is worth experiencing now.

If you were like me and on the fence, play this game! I experienced this game 25 years late so can't quite appreciate the historical significance and impact of the OG Half-Life. But still I was fairly surprised how well it still stands up on its own. The gunplay and atmosphere are great, story is way more compelling than I had anticipated, fun level design, and better AI than a majority of modern games. Also fairly challenging game if you try to avoid save scumming - with a couple of particular levels in mind ;)

It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn close. I almost never buy games on release, but this was well worth the full price and more. It's a phenomenal single player experience for the story, voice acting, gameplay, and 100 other things. And even better as a multiplayer experience for the pure shenanigans. It's like D&D if you and your friends could be even more unhinged. I can't say enough good things about this game that haven't already been said before. Just know that everyone gassing up this game is 100% correct.

Multiplayer ARG without a functional Online mode THREE DAYS after launch. I know the devs are working hard on the server issues, but they absolutely deserve all the smoke. Multiplayer concerns have been brought up in Early Access for years but were brushed off. The developers claimed to be enthusiasts of the genre who wanted to do right by the community and create their ideal ARPG. Fill the void left by Diablo 4 and all that. And then put even less effort into their launch than D4. Maybe Last Epoch really is the perfect ARPG, but there's no way of knowing since each zone takes about 5 minutes to clear then quite literally 30 minutes to load the next one. On a maxed out PC and 1 GB ethernet. Edit: couple weeks later and the game is much more stable. Very fun so far but have not hit end game yet so cannot judge fully. Will update again later but for now, the gameplay is very solid and have already had more than $35 worth of fun.
