A worthy successor to Bosch, even if it could use a bit more grit and less hand-holding for Gen Zers who are staring at their phones when they watch TV.

So sad to see a show lose its way so fully and so quickly. Blessed with two leads wiho shared ncredible chemistry, the showrunner abruptly separated them for the bulk of Season 2, thinking that this show his premise had something more to offer. It did not. What a waste.

So much wasted potential here. I love the premise and the pacing, but Madeleine Sami's character is such a scene- and momentum-destroying caricature that I had to stop watching. Everything Rami does rings false, from sloppily eating a burrito during an autopsy to ranting and raving mindlessly at every turn, takes the viewer out of the story. Is it the actor's fault? The showrunners? Dunno. But it's an unwatchable show that could have been really good.

Silo: Season 23

This show is slower and dumber than the most idiotic audience members out there. The sets are expensive, I get it, but dragging everything out doesn't build tension; it generates frustration. I find the subject matter fascinating but I don't trust the writers and I am not coming back for more.

Shallow, cliche-ridden storytelling. Alex Kurtzman seems determined to destroy this franchise. Awful.

Shogun features taut, textured storytelling without a wasted gesture or word. Hundreds of Hollywood showrunners should watch and take notes.

Star Trek: Discovery: Season 52
Apr 15, 2024
This series started with such promise back in 2017 but it has devolved into a preachy after-school special determined to teach viewers "important" lessons about inclusion. The protagonists do not hail from StarFleet—they are a hyperactive Human Resources department from the most annoyingly pedantic space corporation imaginable.

Secret Invasion: Season 12
Jul 3, 2023
Deadly dull and rife with cliches, this DOA series provides further evidence that Kevin Feige has lost his way. Olivia Colman brought some energy to the proceedings but everybody else **** oxygen out of the room. The MCU needs a reset.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power9

Very strong start: Taut pacing, detailed characterizations, understated-yet-specific acting, and otherworldy special effects. I was one of those nerds who read everything, including the appendices and the Silmarillion, and I am very pleased.
