MOBA is a terrible genre name, but that being said, this is easily the best of the genre. The most balanced by far with the highest skill ceiling. Aside from the gameplay, Valve does a great job keeping it updated and working, it has one of the best clients i've seen in a multiplayer video game in a while

If it weren't for the game play of the first game I would have a harder time saying this, but HDN V is definitely the best game of the series at the moment (Rebirth should change that) Best game play by far though I would say not as charming as the first game. If you've played the Japanese version or read the original script you'd know the terrible localization NISA gave this game which is one of my biggest complaints easily. Either way best game of the series, but definitely don't start playing the series from here and going backwards, it's hard to adjust to the game play getting worse.

In comparison to the first game, I really can't tell where this game stands. The game play is improved, but some of the story and setting things were retconned a bit, it's not a bad change but in my opinion it's not the most intelligent changes, I didn't like that they scrapped the whole goddess worship thing, having that made the character seem more like goddesses, but that may be entirely personal opinion. Either way it's a decent sequel and if you didn't enjoy the first game because of the dungeons or combat i'd say give this a try. (the remake Rebirth 2 doesn't nearly have as many upgrades as Rebirth 1 has over the first game but it's still gonna be out sometime for Vita if you can wait)

While the gameplay and combat can be a bit underwhelming, it's more then competently put together, especially in comparison to other Jrpgs coming out around the time. This can be forgiven for the rest of the game, the setting, story and characters are all unique and charming enough to completely carry the game. The character interactions probably being the best part. The video game references are all pretty good too, nothing that insults your intelligence or terrible 4 year old memes that other developers like to put in their games. Easily the most charming game of the series, and the sound track is pretty good too, though hopefully you'll be able to deal with the combat (Unless Rebirth is out by now in which case play that) I wish IF localized their own game though (once again they did for Rebirth)

Very old, charming rogue like game, very similar to the newer, now very popular FTL though no where near as RNG based. If you fail in this game you'll know it was your doing and where you should improve upon. The story is simple but it doesn't need anything grandiose, the characters you meet are charming enough for the very little you'll see of them, the one major NPC ally is always nice to talk to for some fun dialog. A fun game for someone who has a half an hour to spend every so often. Hunter is OP
