Flipping Death2

The design is sloppy and hard to discern, sections of the level have no actual purpose. The jokes are stale. The economy of collectibles doesn't make sense. And there's not enough information to help you solve problems without just follow the instructions provided by the hints. There is barely any story to make you invest. I've given this game a chance multiple times, and it does not pay off.

What Remains of Edith Finch10

This game/storytelling experience is SOLID. Beautiful from top to bottom, the mysteries you explore and the tragedies you reveal are sad and comical, fantastical and mundane. It's easy to believe in this house's existence and the girl you are, searching it. I can't recommend Annapurna Interactive's games highly enough.

A Normal Lost Phone9

I got into this game in a way I wasn't expecting. It was hard to describe to other people what it was like to play - you're going through a stranger's phone, finding ways to unlock apps and their secret features to reveal a character unseen who has mysteriously left their phone behind. I found it exhilarating in a morally pure way of sneaking through someone's private messages, and I found it touching as I began to understand and recognize the situation. I really love this game.

LEGO DC Super-Villains8

I have never been a fan of the LEGO games, perceiving them to be clunky, clumsy, and unfinished feeling. But LEGO DC Super-villains is fairly well polished. Playing the Marvel game that released a year before reveals how much of an advancement this is over a similar idea of many characters teaming up. The DLC is extremely lackluster except for getting characters you might like, like in Batman the Animated Series, Justice League Dark, or Young Justice sets. It's a ton of fun to unlock all the characters. The character designer is the standout feature.

This game is so underrrated. It may be simple and a little repetitive, but after playing about 60% of the game, I can tell you that there is some nuance in the settings of each level. There are so many fun choices made in the game, but I only catch glimpses of some because the action can be so fast. Check out the various modes included, including one in which you have to repeatedly shoo a cat out of your frame vision in order to play. This game is built for fun. You can enjoy it in small doses or grind away at it like a maniac.

This simple game is surprisingly fun. I think the reviews' low scores largely have to do with the lack of information presented to the player. I just played and encountered other birds for the first time, which was amazing. Could it be improved? Absolutely, and I will be in line to buy their next game. But I think you should definitely check this out for something different. So simple. So fun. So relaxing.
