A period piece that follows the diverse casting found in Bridgerton---but nary a bloomer in sight and suitable for the whole family. If you have no expectations except for light entertainment, perfect for a night home alone with a pint of Haagen Dazs.

Funny, refreshing and full-on sexy. Surprisingly suspenseful for a movie that mostly takes place in one room and with lots of chit chat. Seems to make it all the more intimate. Emma Thompson is so "Emma" and BRAVE. Also doesn't hurt that Daryl McCormack is meltingly handsome. Yum. Hubby and I were smitten.

Perfect pandemic viewing if you're looking for mindless silliness. Somewhat subversive if you consider that the main good guys and baddies (and most everyone in between) are middle-aged ladies. That one of them gets the hot guy is even better.
