With all of the controversy surrounding Pokémon Sword and Shield before release I will admit I was slightly apprehensive about these games but regardless I pre-ordered a copy of Pokémon Sword upon visiting the Pokémon Center in London. I've played every single Pokémon game on release day and I've always enjoyed them so I was hoping for the same here. Needless to say I was not disappointed! Immediately the game had me grinning from ear to ear, a feat which the series has not achieved with me since the original Ruby and Sapphire versions! I have played the game through casually, going at my own pace, catching everything in sight and simply enjoying myself. Doing A this, including enjoying the online functionality and exploring everything, it took me around 50 hours to finally get around to finishing the main story, and I still have more to do! I'm determined to catch every Pokémon available in the game! Sure, these games don't have every Pokémon available in them but that's not as bad a thing as some would have you believe! These games are an absolute blast and the most fun I've had with Pokémon in years!
