I made myself a nice warm latte and started this text just to say 2 things: one– this show is absolutely magnificent in every possible aspect; and two– this coffee tastes even better while reading the reviews of bigots and incels who haven't even been able to dent the User Score. It's a nice day today.

The best way I can describe this show is by saying that Anthony Bourdain would most likely be a fan. If indeed a little over-the-top in its personal interactions and relationship drama, The Bear is a gorgeously shot frantic mess that deserves to be chugged while it's still hot. The performances are heartfelt and the pain and ecstasy of a foodie-passion-project feel honest.

As usual, ignore the sad racist user-reviews. This is a real fun, lighthearted, cute and original Marvel show. Very promising first episode.

As usual, the sad bigots are out in full force. Ignore them, this show only just got better.

As usual on here, most reviews are extremely (and unfairly) polarising, but the truth is that this show has both the good and bad mentioned by everyone, making it –in my opinion– just average. The good: very good acting, gorgeous art-direction/photography/cinematography, and a refreshingly human and slow take on sci-fi. The bad: extremely lazy writing with baffling unresolved questions and very flawed world building (gorgeous, mysterious and appealing, but frustratingly nonsensical too). In my onion it's a shallow and superficial show, a sort of melancholic "Lost": very intriguing and wants to be poetic, but has no idea where it's going or why.

Beautiful show full of heart, attitude and gorgeous photography. While the themes and overarching story are quite light and addressed to teens, they still carry powerful messages. This 39yo man and his wife loved it. Oh how I wished this type of TV existed when me and my friends were kids... Particularly helpful for girls at that age. How helpful would it have been to see all these positive messages about friendship, love, understanding, empathy and care for your loved ones and for minorities and fringe groups. Bravo.

I love so many elements of this production (most of the actors, the premise, the blend of sci-fi and comedy...) but the writing was so so terrible that I got actually upset by the end of it. Save yourself sometime and don’t bother with this show.

Absolute masterpiece, from the brilliant performances, the well constructed narrative, and the disturbingly relevant storytelling. One of the best shows of the year, no doubt.

There was some smart editing and a couple of neat tricks teasing with the comfort of our knowledge from the main series. Other than that, it's what pretty much everyone else says: dull and predictable story, poor writing, very annoying characters and some cringeworthy acting. Unless you're a teenager who is really into the horror genre, skip this one...
