Tavern Master9

Once you get the hang of how it works, this is a good game to relax to. It's more fun than I expected. Only issue I have is replayability is relatively low. Once you beat the main game and unlocked all of the achievements, there's not much else to do but to start over.

When I first learned about this game, I got super excited. I saw a video trailer (which has since been removed and replaced with the current version) on the Steam page where you buy a warehouse, DJ equipment, a bathroom, bar, etc. Then you build out your chill zone, expand your club and check on your customers. You could even zoom into the crowd, as if you were part of them. I could not wait to play that game... ...Unfortunately, this is not that game. The concept is more of The Sims building builder, just not as in-depth. The buildings are pre-made with no option to expand and they're all very generic. You can (or have to) decorate your club to gain reputation, but there's no real variation. You have to keep your clients happy and make sure you have enough of what they need (places to sit, bars to buy alcohol, places to dance, and bathrooms to use). The problem with that is when the customers are unhappy, it's not clear why. You'll have about 15 unhappy customers and no reason what the problem is. When things go wrong (and boy do they), you have to click on the issue, then press and hold the mouse button until it's rectified. You can eventually hire staff to help out. However, it comes to a point where the things that go wrong grossly overwhelm you and the staff. I felt like I was holding the mouse button more than actually playing the game. I do like the fact that you can use your own music while playing. Once you pass the "tutorial" and played about an hour, you've pretty much done all you can. Some people may find this fun and, to you, I say enjoy. I really wanted to like this game, considering I absolutely loved game that is extremely similar called "Tavern Master". Maybe it's just not for me, but I can't honestly recommend this game.

In my opinion, this is the type of game Star Wars Squadrons should have been. Interesting story, great graphics, fun game play. If you're into sci-fi and space shooter games, give this one a try.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard9

Let me start off and say, after finally finishing this game, I absolutely LOVED it! The combat is fun, the story is intriguing, everything looks graphically stunning. But I understand some of the hate it gets, especially from fans of the Dragon Age series. I can see why they say it didn't feel like a DA game. The setting is too modern and practically none of your past choices from the previous games matter. If this was treated as a brand new IP under a different name and series with a more modern time setting, I think it would have been received a lot more positively. I also know the issues the creators were having making the game, with plenty of roadblocks, rejected ideas, modified plans, and direction problems. I'm 100% sure this isn't the game they wanted to produce. And I'm sure, even though I love it the way it is, if the creators had their way and given free reign to make it how they wanted, this would have been a completely different game. Which leads to my only complaint about the game: it's WAY too short (I know I put 185 hours in. Mind you, a good portion of that time was spent on the pause screen for minutes to literal hours because, you know, life). It feels very much incomplete, like there was supposed to be more story to tell, but got dramatically cut. Specifically the characters, who are great and all, but don't feel fully fleshed out. They needed a lot more time to develop. And I'm sure that was the intention of the developers, if they weren't cut off at the knees. But if my only gripe is that I want more of the game, that should tell you how great I find it. Like Mass Effect Andromeda (and I'm sure I'm shooting myself in the foot with that comparison), I think it should be given another chance. For DA fans, I say think of this more as an alternate timeline or universe rather than a direct continuation of the story. I may be looking at it through rose-tinted glasses, but I honestly think its a great game. For those that didn't like it, I say to give it another chance. And, if you've never played a Dragon Age game, give it a try. It really is good, albeit short.
