In addition to the fascinating premise, I was pleasantly surprised that it did not devolve into predictability of either plot or genre. You really could not tell where it was going next, which kept it exciting: moral tale, horror, monster, ET-like human connection, it was all woven in together. I wish they would make a sequel.
