Halo: Combat Evolved10
May 26, 2021
In 2001, Xbox intoduced Halo, one of the most revolutionary fps games ever made or was it? Halo wasn't as impactful as Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 is a bit richer in experience but Halo brought a 10-year-old genre to a whole new type of players, i never owned an xbox but i played Halo on xbox and for console players, Halo was beyond Heaven. Its cinematic feeling, satisfying gameplay (although a bit simple), online multiplayer and beautiful graphics definitely guaranteed a fantastic experience.
Halo's level design was a bit lazy, it wasn't that much of a concern since CE was the most advanced shooter in the market back in the day but nowadays it can feel a bit repetitive and that's my only problem with Halo. More varied level design could have made Halo a more memorable journey but Halo did its job pretty well. Halo was the next step in the industry, which was surpassed by Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 was surpassed itself three years later by Halo 3.

Quake8

Quake wasn't as revolutionary as DOOM or Wolfenstein 3d but what made it worthwhile was its online multiplayer and graphics. The engine was more revolutionary than the game. But Quake is still a worthy title to play.

Thief: The Dark Project9
May 26, 2021
Thief is one of the best video games ever made, that got lost in the shuffle. Things that make this game so brilliant are pacing and gameplay. The story is immersive as well. But for 1997 this game impacted MANY video games and although it is considered to be a masterpiece today, i think more people should play this game. The game feels a bit outdated but i think that is not an enough excuse to not experience this great video game.

System Shock 210

System Shock 2 is so underrated, its impact on out industry is undeniable. It wasn't perfect or flawless but let's see what it did best that made it an instant classic:
1. Subtle gameplay
2. Perfect atmosphere
3. A story that was ahead of its time
4. Realistic level design
Sure thr game had flaws as well, to be honest it had many flaws but sometimess something is just too good.

Half-Life10
May 26, 2021
For me Half-Life is the most important shooter ever made, if you go into Half-Life expecting Doom you will be disappointed, Doom (1993) was an awesome fast-paced action phenomenon, but Half-Life was more satisfying to play. Half-Life's complex world, fascinating narration, exciting gameplay and simple but twisted story makes it a perfect video game experience for every type of gamer. It's a classic like Fallout, and it will a great experience.
