Enjoyed this film with a sophisticated 13-year old. Although there were slow bits, generally the movie moved along with wit and suspense. Great imagery, smart dialogue and a psychologically adept interpretation of the inner workings of our emotions. At the end we agreed that it was a fine film, and "not for children" - too sophisticated!

We were unsure of what to expect from this film, but went on the strength of liking Ian McKellen. Graceful and meditatively slow, this film unfolds like a rare blossom. Fine acting, a deft camera and a moving story...wonderful!

Intensely boring movie with "surprise" ending where an insensitive self-involved woman becomes instantly lovable when she realizes that her nasty personality will ruin her relationship with a decent guy - wouldn't all our lives be significantly different if that ever happened? It's been said before but never more aptly than here - no talent is not enough.
