Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair10
Nov 27, 2022
Now, I know me giving this game a 10 may seem like I'm overdoing how good it is, but honestly, I really don't think I would be. From the most basic perspective, it is a direct upgrade to Danganronpa 1, with a cast similar in quality to 1, but overall better interactions and character development. The game's large increase in difficulty can also be very fun to those who want a challenge, as even on the hardest difficulty, the game does not seem unfair most of the time. Also, it's a lot easier to get attached to characters in Danganronpa 2 compared to the first game, because of how much development some characters get, making how they end up much more impactful than the first game. Overall, this is probably my favorite video game of all time, It's challenging, emotional, and still able to be humorous at times. The only real thing I can criticize about it are the, for lack of a better term, Degenerate portions of the game, but they can be looked past, because of just how great the rest of the game is, and how short those sections last.

This game overall, is great, and while I don't think it's perfect, It definitely is a great experience overall. The game isn't too hard, even on the hardest difficulty, making it accessible to most people, especially those who have not played a visual novel before this. Although, that also comes with the downside of it being a bit too easy for some of the trials, even later ones. It also has good characters, with only one or two that I really found annoying or disliked. Overall, the game is really good, just not amazing necessarily.

This game is tough to rate based off of mechanics alone, because it's a collection of minigames, so I will rate each game and misc categories individually and make an average from those. [Swordplay 10] [Wakeboarding 7] [Frisbee 7] [Archery 8] [Basketball 9] [Table Tennis 9.5] [Golf 7] [Bowling 7.5] Power Cruising 7] [Canoeing 4] [Cycling 8.5] [Air Sports 8] [Controls 7] [Replayability 8.5]

This game is great for people who want an authentic fighting game experience (A.K.A something similar to melee.) If you're not in that boat, its not the best experience overall. However, if you are, then this is the most fun you are going to have for a while playing a game. The mechanics are fleshed out and flow fantastically, however, where the real fun comes in, is the workshop. Hundreds or even thousands of well designed characters, stages, and buddies to make your experience fun while playing with friends, or even when playing by yourself! With all of that into account, this game deserves a 9.

This game is kind of a mixed bag. On one hand, you have a great formula of battle royale (even if it is overused), and a fun, newer gamemode that takes the formula of games like TF2 and Overwatch, and changes it. However, the game can sometimes be not very fun to play. For one, the average playerbase of the game is probably somewhere around the ages of 8 - 14. This can cause some players you team up with to be not all that good, and cause your experience to be much worse overall (there is no solo mode, sadly). The game can also be (sort of) pay to win, but not in the traditional sense. It works in the same way as games like Fortnite, where there is a global currency (apex coins) that can only consistently be obtained by paying with money, and using the in game currency to buy cosmetic items. However, I feel like EA has done something at least decent for once, as the game is still fun and addictive when playing with friends.

Overall a very solid game on most fronts. It is an addictive, strategy card game to waste a few hours on if you are bored. One of the only issues however would be the number of no-lives that use meta decks to get literally nothing in return. Other than that though, it's fun and decently casually friendly, especially if you have friends playing with you. Some of my favorite moments from card games have come from this game, but the community of sweats can be a bit challenging to deal with once you get past (or even into) silver.

What can I say other than that this is a fantastic game that has aged like a fine wine. The visual style is fantastic and judging by the fact that they have not changed the style dramatically in over 14 YEARS and it still looks amazing is a feat that very few games have earned. The gameplay is also great and no matter what character you pick, you are most likely going to have a good time. It's a good game for people who want a serious FPS to play, or for people who just want to mess around and have a good time. The only real issue would be the lack of support from Valve recently, but if you can look past that, than it is a very fun game to waste a big chunk of your time on.

The only real way to describe this game is just that it's overall pretty good. Even though it holds your hand the whole way through, and there is not too much extra content, it is overall very charming and fun to waste a couple hours to try to beat this classic.

A simple yet fun game that does not try to be more than it wants to be. It's a joke game, textures are purposefully made mediocre and it can be charming at times. It also has a great combat system and is genuinely a fun VR game to play when you want to waste a few hours. However, it still has some baggage. For one, it can sometimes be difficult to know where you have to go, but I still respect the game for not holding your hand the whole way through. There are many cases similar to this where there is a specific downside to a part of the game, but it is almost immediately balanced out by something positive, thus my rating.
