Ive been a fan of this franchise since 2015 now, and the state of the game in 2026 is at its worse, I thought the game would be better with time and updates but no. Matchmaking is horrible, you'll be paired with either the biggests noobs or 7 000h players. Maps are original but even if you seem to find a good way to play on them you have to go faster and faster so you can keep up with opponents and even then, you get killed by Kevin the 10 stars charger main across the map. Spawn killing is easier than ever, you don't have a shield anymore at spawn point, you launch you die and sometimes it's this all the game you can't realistically do anything. It's the first one that stresses me out and make my sanity disappear, fun is non existent besides on Salmon Run. Side order is a disappointment too, and don't get me wrong it's okay but you can just play 5 hours as it's the same levels with just different weapons, for the price I expected a little more complexity and variety. Solo mode is okay but again nothing crazy, so much is recycled and it feels like a downgrade compared to the solo mode of Splatoon 2. The only thing that I really love is Salmon Run, a few maps added, king salmonids but AGAIN too much is recycled. I feel like Nintendo forgot that a community grow in age and that most fans of Splatoon got their first game very young, and now it's very hard to attract new comers as the game isn't beginner friendly anymore (not chill, casual or "for fun" too) I'll add as a brush main where the hell are new brushes? There's 50 millions of shooters and brushes for 11 YEARS we got like 10?Basically it feels like most of the time they took the worst of Splatoon 2 put it in the game and added things that nobody wanted or things that are just absurd. People that 100% love this game didn't play Splatoon 1 or 2 I can't believe anything else it's like you got served 2 masterpieces and then the third one is the banana taped to a wall and we try to convince you "I promise it's beautiful just buy it". If Splatoon 4 exists one day I just hope that MATCHMAKING IS FIXED SO I CAN ACTUALLY PLAY AND ENJOY THE GAME
