Makodus

Quite enjoyable, but quickly forgettable. If there had been a little more fluidity to enemy spawning rates and locations then things might have been a bit more interesting. But, no. The enemies were in the exact same spot every time, and followed the same attack pattern without fail. Which isn't much fun, but did allow for easy grinding. The skill tree looked interesting, but I didn't bother with it. Seemed like a lot of fuss and nonsense to be honest. Lock-picking and a good knife was all I needed, even on hard mode. Which, it turned out, wasn't. Every character has a story. It's up to you if you want to know about their particular sad tale. Yes, they're all sad. If you do bother speaking in detail then you get 'rewarded' with a buddy mission. Which "warms your soul". Apparently. The game looks nice, plays well, and given that it's often on sale now then you might as well play it.

Let's get the good stuff done with: great environments, awesome soundtrack and a visual treat. Done. Now the rest: This game is stab porn. With added dog killing. I was expecting the sequel to The Last of Us, but that isn't what I got. I got a terrible fan-fic version of a sequel with every horrible trope thrown in. And, just like bad fan-fic, the story is the most convoluted nonsense you could ever hope for. But it ultimately makes little to no sense and leaves you feeling hollow and unsatisfied.
