Superman 2025 was both pleasantly refreshing and a bit of a letdown. James Gunn's sense of humor is great, especially when trying to put a new spin on an overdone character. David Corenswet was adorable (for lack of a better word) and his take on the character was almost perfect. Humility and humanity were great attributes for this newest Superman. The disappointment comes from the heavy use of unnecessary CGI, too many unnecessary characters, and an unnecessary plot progession. The last point being the juxtaposition of realistic war next to unrealistic astro-phenomena... Bonus points though for Nicholas Hoult being a fantastic hater.

Ne Zha 2 had beautiful graphics that go well beyond the first movie. So wonderful to look at. Unfortunately, that was wasted on a subpar bordering on nonsensical plot and character development. There were missing themes that would have greatly improved this as not just a film, but also as media for children and families. Ne Zha 2 had great potential to show the importance for teamwork and self-acceptance which was brushed aside and ultimately hurt the film.
