Some laughs and quite entertaining to begin with. As the plot progresses though it gets more and more obvious that the main character is a man that cares for no one but himself (and perhaps his family). He also proves himself capable of extreme cruelty against others simply because he has an absurd obsession with the idea that they are in his way. If you find such events entertaining this might be a film in your taste. For me I need to feel identification, sympathy or interest in some character in a film to get involved in the events on the screen. Cruel idiots just isn't my cup of tea, neither in real life nor on film.

A Man Called Ove3

The film should actually be named an idiot named Ove. It's supposed to be about a grumpy old man with a good hart but for me it's hard to get involved in the events depicted when his aversion against the world around him mainly emerges from his own stupidity. From the first scene we get to know Ove as an idiot, when he insists on his rights as a customer in a flower shop in a way that everyone that has ever bought anything know is just plain idiocy. Ove is portrayed as man with knowledge about engines. In a scene when he is on a date with an attractive non-stupid woman (a very unpleausible date for Ove), he is asking her if she knows what the spark plugs do in a cars motor. She does not and Ove then says that they make the engine go round.... Which tells us that Ove hasn't got a clue about engines, nor does the director or the script writer. A not particularly funny, not very heart warming and as stated above, quite stupid film.

Starts off nicely with credible onboard car scenes and great engine sound. Adam Driver soon gets stuck in his booring ways, sex scenes stumbles in randomly without adding to the understanding of the characters and after some forty minutes when Mann shall show some race action all credibility gets off track and thats it for me...

Starts of quite ok until the film goes to Sweden. After that it turns unengaging and stupid just like the actions of the characters in it. Pugh is cute though...

If this is a true presentation of todays Africa, well then we will never see prosperity there. The majority of the black persons in the film are portrayed as monsters. A painful film to watch, and not in a good way.

Brilliant, heart-wrenching, dark saga. Violet and tender, exquisit and revolting. Grabs a hold of you from scene one and refuses to let go. Amazing story, brilliantly acted and put on the screen by a director who clearly loves film and masters his trade.

For three hours+ you get the opportunity to look a lot at the beautiful leading lady doing her household chores (plus some "other" chores that you don't see so much of...) In between you have to put up with some quite annoying appearances of her idiotic and ugly son. Sums up to quite a bore. For the main character as well as for the viewers. What happens in the end comes as no surprise.
