This game easily has the potential to be a 10 out 10. But for some reason the developers decided to add timers to most maps which will often ruin the experience as it stops you being tactical. So I’m giving it 8 but if you download the timer mods from the workshop you may as well add those 2 points back.

On balance good. This is a good game. It just could have been a lot better on the PC had Bethesda bothered to optimise it for the PC. Its not quite in the league of the greats like Fallout 3 or Skyrim, but its not far behind either. I had fun in the game and will sink many more hours into it. 7 out of 10, in what could have been 8 out of 10 if they optimised it properly, or 10 out of 10 if they were quite as fastidious as they were with Skyrim or Fallout 3. Still worth playing though for sure. Will be greatly enhanced I suspect by the mods on their way.

This game is the ultimate sandbox, trade, pirate, bounty hunt, forge a military career or become a humanitarian relief philanthropist. The way the game is put together is first rate, ship controls are tight and responsive, they handle believably with combat having real weight as you fire off your Gatling guns or take a beam laser across your hull. I highly recommend it. It’s true that the alpha testers like me after 400+ hour in the game have seen much of the content on offer at launch day, but they are in continuous development, and so I really doubt if a new player joining after launch is going to run out of content anytime soon if at all. The proof is that the vast majority of alpha and beta testers are still piling in the hours to this game, for a simple reason, there really is no other space sim sandbox anywhere near as good as this one. This really is one of those rare games you could clock up 1000 hours gameplay with, so for £35 it’s an utter barging. Also you can buy slave girls by the ton 

Most of the content has been removed. It is a substantial backward step from Sims 3 which was itself a backward step from Sims 2, the best version of the game. I suspect that in future you will be able to buy back most of the content that came as standard in Sims 2. But at the costs of hundreds of dollars. Avoid this rip off.

The game has an inverse difficulty curve in that making it through your first few winters is probably the games greatest challenge. Get beyond the need for simple food and shelter and your settlement can start to grow and you find yourself in a relaxing well-made village builder. Once you start playing it has that, just one more year, quality that keeps you sat at the PC engrossed as the hours fly by. However, a week on I find myself with little incentive to replay. As the game currently lacks any higher goals or real sense of progression once you have a viable settlement. While I’m hugely impressed this all came from one person I feel the game needs more depth. In its current form it has too little replayablity. As a foundation to add greater depth you could not ask for better than this, and I hope in time the dev and modders flesh out the game. I am glad I purchased, but I will now be taking a long pause until the game gets built upon.

Poker Night 2

A much improved sequel creates a playable, fun game and cheap game. The Original Poker Night was almost unplayable due to the absurd AI betting behaviour. This has been significantly improved. However, with a $20,000 buy-in and a big blind starting at $800 and rising fast its very fast paced, I would have liked to the option to start at a much lower BB, but then they would need a different AI behaviour set. These guys actually behave (kinda) rational given that you start on only 25 BB’s and will find yourself on less than 10 within 5-10 minutes. That said they were clearly shooting for a game that took about 10-15 minutes to play at most, and have delivered. Looking beyond the Poker itself the game is lively, funny, and just well designed. I think you get a lot for your £4. And while its more of a mini-game to be played in the occasional short bust rather than over and over for hours, where the repeated dialogue would strain; I have to say I’m very impressed. Knowing how to rate this game is tricky. If I’m comparing it against the whole gaming universe it’s a 6 out of 10, If you compare it to other £4 games it’s 10 out of 10. So I’m going with 8. I suggest you buy it, play a game or two a day when you have a spare 20 minutes and it will be a very worth addition to your steam account.

An engaging little game that makes little fuss, but drawed me completely. I've always found constructing things rewarding, and building a bridge that works, and can stand up to trains, winds and earthquakes gives you a huge dollop of satisfaction when you complete a level. I keep coming back to this game, by playing it in windowed mode in the corner of my screen, it makes no fuss, just letting me dip in and improve my design every time I think I have figured out a way of improving and drop out to something else as I please. The only criticism I would have is at £16 its a little more expensive then it should be for a fairly short indie game. That said, I don't begrudge a penny, as I have certainty extracted my monies worth.
