Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. Not for a long time have i come across a game that balances "Sim" realism with fun!!!! A sliding scale of assists that you can tailor for the way you want to play and enjoy the game. Graphically it's ground-breaking, the visuals are just "next gen" at last. I get rewarded for learning lines, breaking-zones and can grind for my favourite car like the games of old. Now, the online requirement and micro-transitions are not my cup of tea, but that is absolutely detracting people's attention / review bombing away from the actual core Game Play which is just staggeringly good. It's interesting other games with "micro transactions" such as skins, season passes, additional cars etc aren't getting judged so harshly? A game i have thus far thoroughly enjoyed and will sink many, many hours into. Next Gen Racing has arrived.

Not 10, more a 9 or 9.1 but have to give 10 as seriously, some people are rating this as '0' i mean, you really have to be a special kind of person to do that lol It's a visual masterpiece, the core gameplay is brilliant, so far the plot is interesting and engaging. We are so spoilt as gamers, perhaps, to now be expecting this regularly. Massive leaps forward in the gameplay, the visuals and overall performance of the game. Diversity of enemies and battles has increased, plot/story is as gripping as previous. Interesting, diverse characters and a real sense this is a plausible future, so immersion levels are next level. Just an incredible feet of creativity.

What a thoroughly enjoyable experience, within the genre it represents. A nice balance of mystery to the story, action to the gameplay and puzzles to progress. The Metroidvania elements of unlocking new key areas to explore as you cycle back through the gameplay loop. Bright vivid neon colours, dark ambiance and interesting AI deliver another Housemarque masterpiece.

Great fun - nod to GTA at birth. Lovely nods to cult classic from yesteryear, crazy combo system and trophies to boot. Simple graphics, of course, it's what it's suppose to be (clue is in the title!) it's a retro feel brought into the current generation of console. Where it could have been a touch better? Variance, in vehicle mostly, rather than things feeling like sped-up or slowed-down versions of the same vehicle perhaps a more intuitive set of variables between vehicles? It's a small gripe but considering driving is such a big part of the game, does lose a few points there. Either way - 100% should be in your collection (be it physical or digital) and 100% worth playing through.

Short, interactive, beautifully painful. A plethora of stories within a story, each offering a different glimpse into the lives of a "Finch" whilst, at the same time, giving you, "Edith", various challenges to unlock the next chapter of your personal story. Each chapter told exquisitely well, and done-so with game-play that draws you into the life of the person for whom that chapter focuses. It's a dream ****, short, sweet and memorable.

Pains me to say (because i was very excited for this game) this is probably one of the worst games i've played on the PS4. Clunky drive-mechanics, limited combat system and quite painful game-play throughout. Multi-player doesn't improve things, where you spend so much of your time trying to line-up a shot you barely get above 10mph successfully. I had such high hopes for this, it just feels rushed, incomplete and a generation or two behind PS4 standard. Hopefully the developers learnt some valuable game-creation lessons on this one and improve in their next showing.

Barnstormer **** - it ebs and flows and whilst can look chaotic to an outsider, when you pick-up that controller you are immersed. There is nothing better than co-op mode bedlam, the manic, psychedelic game-play draws you into a trance-like state where the game-play you produce and moments of "wowza" achieved as you traverse a difficult section where enemies are closing in and your last human needs saving will leave you breathless. Has had some seriously play, graphically beautiful, a brilliant flow, short ... but very, VERY sweet! As close as a 9 rating can get to 10 without quite hitting that perfect score (where could it have gained that final ping - i'd say it could have been a touch longer, or maybe a slightly larger level layout with smaller passages leading to larger rooms ? Either way, it's a damned good game this one)!

The best game of this generation in my honest opinion. My KDM Local - Gaming Hub blog post sums it up better than i can in 5000 characters (the blog is long!) but the basic notion is a) fantastic new gaming heroine b) engrossing story (both personal and wider-world) c) brilliant combat, every battle feels epic d) staggeringly beautiful setting (spent far too much time in Photo Mode). It's a gem ****, and a heroine that will become a mainstay of Sony for decades to come :)

Can't really go wrong with this game, even now (9 years after release) it still plays brilliantly for all the family (from 1 through 4 players and everything between). Great for father and son time, where daddy can "pick-up" the son's character, and traverse more difficult parts, and put down son then once clear. Or son, atop a "Yoshi" can eat daddy's character and spit him down a hole! Either way, laughter ensues. A fantastic game and a classic even to this day (2018).
