Godzilla: Unleashed - Double Smash

Godzilla: Unleashed is Pipeworks' third and final Godzilla title. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the weakest installment of the trilogy. I cannot count the number of bugs this game had. The controls are strangely out of tune, because there are times when the monsters don't do what you want them to. There are a few positives; the most noteworthy being the huge roster of playable monsters. The Wii version is the winner over this game's PS2 counterpart, which feels more like an update of Godzilla: Save the Earth than a totally new game. While it is superior to the PS2 version, it is still hampered by the aforementioned problems. I am a hardcore Godzilla fan, and I still thought this game was just average.

An easily accessible fighting game that almost anybody can jump into and understand. Players will need to beat the story mode many times to unlock all of the monsters, but it doesn't take away from the fun of the game. The greatest part of DAMM is that you'll feel like you're really a giant monster; something that most Godzilla games prior to this one failed to capture.

Metro 2033

While the game looks pretty, Metro 2033's gameplay severely hampers what could have been an enjoyable FPS. There were also times when I entered new sections of the game without any ammunition, and had to replay certain sections to obtain resources. Battling multiple enemies can leave players exhausted, and a number of them (the monsters in particular) require an unusual number of bullets to be taken down. This is not a particularly positive aspect, because ammunition and other important items are scarce in this world. I am all for a challenge, but leaving the player without the necessary resources for success is downright unfair.

With a detailed story and psychological horror elements that keep the player on edge, this is one of the best Gamecube titles out there. Eternal Darkness is arguably the greatest horror game I have ever played, and that is no exaggeration.

If you've ever looked at the back of the box for this game, you probably saw the headline: "PREPARE TO DIE!" This phrase will leave a lasting impression on your mind, because if you play Dark Souls, you will die again and again. Players will be thrust into a cold, unforgiving world where almost everything you encounter wants you dead. While the game may sound intimidating, it is not unfair to players. Every mistake you make is your own, and not the fault of the game. Dark Souls is not for those seeking a leisurely gaming atmosphere. It is a challenging one that will test your skills. Surpassing the obstacles set before you will give you a sense of accomplishment that many games seem to lack these days.
